That is very nicely done.
Congrats!
I must, however, ask...
Do you iron and fold your underpants or are you just a neat freak about music gear?

Hey Z, I've been following the conversation and have to comment on how nice that pedalboard looks. What kind of wood did you use for the floor of the board? Actually looks like wood flooring!

I'm not as anal as that pedal board makes me look. :D But I did want to make sure that all the loose wiring was lashed down well.

Hey, Mr. C, thanks. The floor (and top) of the board are both 1/2" birch-veneered plywood. The rearmost two pedals are on a riser made of the same, to give them a 1/2" lift. Per Mutt's suggestion earlier in this thread I applied a few coats of sanding sealer to the floor before applying all that Velcro.

BTW, for those that are interested, I got all the case hardware (feet, corners, handles, and latches) from DB Little (dblittle.com). The cable wrap and screwed-down tie-downs are from Home Depot.

Nice job ZB, now you have something to sit on while you wait for the bus.

Shouldn't you have covered that baby with leather look vinyl while you were about it?

;)

And what color (colour?) would you recommend? :D

I did think about maybe some Tolex or cabinet carpet but I decided that painted wood would take stencils better. And it's cheaper. ;)

It has to be fender tweed, and stencils are soooo 1980's.

Wait a minute your old like me aren't you.;)

Thats correct.:p

So, stencils it is then. :p

Maybe a nice yellow biohazard or nuclear waste symbol?

Or an arrow on each side, all pointing in different directions, with no accompanying legend?

Or a stencil identifying it as property of the National Security Agency, CINC EYES ONLY, CONTENTS: NUCLEAR CODES? Nah, probably not that.

Cow spots? :D

I'll have to think on it. ;)

Yin Yan, CND and some Led Zep symbols would be more original. You have to think this through.

I've done the same thing, I've got a velcro pedal board and it all seems great. the only problem i'm having is to get the velcro to stick to the rubberised bases of the pedals - how can i fix this? what sort of glue will hold strong enough?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I found that the adhesive on the industrial-strength Velcro has no problem sticking to the rubber bases of the Boss pedals. I did remove the small non-slip dots on all four corners of the pedals to make sure that they can't interfere with the Velcro bonding. Make sure that the bottoms of your FX are good and clean.

Looks great Zaphod, very tidy and well done. One suggestion that might make your life easier would be to look into a Boss NS-2. Not as much for the noise suppression (which works well) but because it doubles as a power supply. You can run a single wall-wart adapter to the NS-2, then it has a cable with multiple male plugs that can power all of your Boss pedals.

But hey it looks like that pedal board can handle all of your wall warts plus those from 2 adding machines, a hair dryer, an inkjet printer, computer speakers and an answering machine! Now THAT would be a full-featured pedal board.

Tadpui, I considered getting one of the power supplies on the market that can power multiple pedals, but I already had these supplies laying around and I also did want a power strip in case anyone needed to plug in, say, an air compressor, radial arm saw, or shop vac (along with the adding machines, computer stuff, and hair dryer:D). Also, I've never noticed a a problem with the wall warts injecting noise into the signal chain. Either I'm lucky, deaf, or not too discriminating.

The TU-2 tuner can distribute power to other pedals as long as they're not too power-hungry. I don't know if it is supposed to provide any noise suppression, though - probably not. The delay pedal is a power hog. At any rate I've got more than enough amperage in the warts to go around for now.

All that custom fabricating, and you couldn't be bothered to solder up some cut-to-fit connector cables?

;)

Hey, you're fb is impressive! Just wanna give a thumbs up! I built mine out of shitty particle board and velcro and it holds up pretty good. I rarely use it though, lately I've been on a purist kick. guitar tuner amp. that's it.
