If I get 2 SM57's should I get 1 57 and beta 57 or 2 of one or the other?

I'm buying mics soon. I'm going to be getting a patched pair of condensors so I might not need to use 2 57's for stereo recording. But I'm still going to get two. So do you think it is most useful to get 1 SM57 and 1 beta sm57 or 2 sm57's or 2 beta sm57's?

What is the most useful combination or most versitile?

Thanks,

Mongoo

It really depends on what you're going to use them for... for something like mounted toms I'd get two of the same kind... but one of each would give you a little more versatilely because they are slightly different sounding mics.

Better to have two different clubs in your bag (unless you are stereo recording).

Consider one Beta 56 for versatility.
