Well, the title really says it all. I want to turn a speaker into a microphone, how do u do it?? Muse used an NS10 driver as a mic on the kick for the fills in Apocalypse Please...........

Cheers

Wire the positive and negative terminals of the speaker to a 1/4" plug. Plug into a DI box. Run DI box to preamp. Fin.

didn't you ever use your headphones as a mic when you were a tot messin around with dads mega cool stereo gear?

Just in case it's not clear to the OP or anyone else, you need to use the sub-kick in conjunction with a normal kick mic.

The "NS10 mic" is not at all suitable by itself.

Keep it simple !

The DI box is superfluous in this situation. A DI box is used where you have an impedance conversion requirement (e.g. guitar pickup) or where you have two items earthed (grounded) causing a hum loop, and you want to lift one earth. With a speaker, the impedance is (very) low so you would simply connect the terminals to a 1/4" phone plug, like Adam says, but plug straight into the 1/4" input jack on your mixer or preamp.
