I am not sure about the 100 steps but there are a definite number of steps that are required to set up that TD-M1000 digital mixer.

From Musicians Friend's web-site, I downloaded the owner's manual, and quick start guide and in regards to setting up the board, there was an "Initialize" process which basically was like a re-set function to set everything back to the original out of the box condition of all the setting. This will erase all of your snap shots though!

The other thing of note;

There are 16 line level inputs on your mixer. Have you tried all 16?

If you have Initialized the board, tried all 16 line inputs, are successfully assigning the channel in usage correctly to the Group output of your choosing, and not hearing sound though the headphone out of the mixer or though the monitor, stereo outs on the right hand side of the board, then your mixer may well be defective and in need of professional service.

Cheers! :)

The link I provided also refered to initializing the Mixer. As Ghost said not 100 steps, but maybe your getting a little frustrated and your missing something.

well as you can see.. it's been over a week now, so i've taken my time and followed every instruction in this thread...and that link which is actually just my mixers manual verbatim...which i have followed before. but i went over it several times, double checked, triple checked... u dont wanna know how many times i really checked lol.

i was very thorough...i made sure that i did everything that was mentioned on that link......

but the sound still wont come through my channels.

i can tell you one thing i noticed that might indiciate that my mixer IS broken... which at this point im actually hoping for, cuz if my mixer isn't broken... i am the worlds dumbest person lol.

the mixer has also been hooked up with midi cables to my Emagic AMT8 midi interface. when i slide the faders up or down for all of the channels i can see that midi is flowing through my AMT8... all channels except for CHANNEL 2 and here i think is the kicker THE MASTER FADER. No midi data is coming through whatsoever when i move these faders up and down.

so i figure that if the master volume slider is broken.. that is probably the problem right there. channel 2 is really irrelevant but it also shows more evidence that the mixer might have been damaged during shipping.

i'd think that ALL of the faders should show midi coming into my AMT8 just like the rest of them do... but the master volume slider doesn't at all...........

really appreciate you guys being patient and helping me out with this.......maybe you could make some final comments about what i just mentioned.

thanks again.

I could only reiterate what I mentioned already and that is, if you have done everything by the book and aren't getting the desired results, strongly consider taking the mixer to a qualified service facility and see if they can get to the bottom of it.

Make sure to get an estimate first and see from there if it is worth it to fix it.

If it comes back as healthy, then I would suggest you sell the board with certificate of health from the service center as a sales aid and pick up a less complex, analog board that will do what you need it to do and chalk it up to one of life's great mysteries and move on.

Cheers! :)

its already what i plan on doing regardless if i was to get a signal now or not...

i definitely want a different mixer... and i definitely wanna sell this... but i dont wanna sell it if its broken... so like you mentioned, im gonna have to get this fixed and then sell it... hopefullly i can get an estimate beforehand....

i just wondered what you guys thought after all this time, about the midi data not being recieved when the master fader was moved up and down?

you have almost invested as much tireless effort into getting this thing going as i have... so i figured, just for fun at this point.. what your guess about that little issue might be.

you think that it's evidence that this mixer is broken?

thanks for all of your help.......it's good to know that there are people who will help out when they could just worry about their own problems instead.

much appreciated ghost and vestast!!!

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about your mixer to answer the question about the midi issue.

Perhaps Vestast has more insight on this particular issue?

Good luck either way!

Cheers! :)

Sorry guys I'm out of ideas.

I agree with Ghost that perhaps you can get it certified by a service tech.

Good luck Embison.
