I need Help

I just got cubase sx3 and I tried to record some vocals over some sample tracks but it was delay, not on time. I dont know if its my computer this is wat I running with:

224 of ram
2 ghz of celeron cpu

ans I bought the program i didnt bootleg it can someone please tell me whats going on, why are my recordings been thrown of timing.What should I do?
 
Do a search here on latency.

I think I would've gone for Cubase SE and put the (considerable) difference towards a better CPU and more RAM.

You're recording interface/soundard will also have an effect on the latency you experience. (As you'll find out after you've done some research).
 
What soundcard? it looks like your system doesn't meet the minimum specs for SX either BTW.

Looks like you're right:

Cubase system requirements

# Processor Pentium / Athlon 800 MHz (Pentium / Athlon 1.4 GHz or faster recommended)
# RAM 384 MB (512 MB recommended)
# Operating System Windows 2000, Windows XP Home or XP Professional
# Sound Card Windows MME compatible audio hardware (ASIO compatible sound card recommended)

Ok I went and bought more ram, 254 extra ram. But itts still doing the lantecy on the recording track. Could it be my sound interface? I got a Edirol
UA-1X USB Audio Interface. :(
 
to be honest i dont know what are asio drivers, I was just researching do I need a m-audio delta pci audio card to run it? cuz my is just going threw the usb slot.
 
You realy need to go over the getting started manual. And then come back and ask your quest.
It will help you get a grip on drivers and things like that.
 
go to DEVICES - DEVICE SETUP - VST MULTITRACK

it will tell you how much latency you have...
if its above, say, 30ms, you're gonna really notice it.

hit contol panel and turn DOWN your buffer... If that options not available, try using the direct X full duplex driver... back in the day when I had my ultra shitty soundblaster, I got my latency all the way down to 14 ms by doing that!
