Well you started with compression settings and then said something about the volume of your radio. So are we talking about compression? If so what are you compressing? Instruments, vocals or the entire mix? We need to know exactly what you are trying to do here.

All no.... here we go again. Lol. I didnt write the note about he mailman. You should read correctly before you comment. I corrected my punctuation and what happened nothing. I asked a real question I didnt ask it in a ignorant way I didn't call anyone stupid. LIke I previously said I was at work I was allready late coming back from my lunch break so I typed in every question that I wanted to know with the hopes that someone could help me because you guys know way more then I do. I know this thats why im overly grateful that some gave me helpful advice. Certain people have that teacher student mentality. Where your the one who needs me. So if you dont ask it the way I want you to you wont get an answer. Thats crazy the guy set up there and told me I stole a program. I went to the guitar center just like everyone else to buy the program, and yes it is sad when I have to defend myself from being attacked by four and five people. This could have all been handled in a better way but some people don't know how to communicate with people. I have never said anything disrespectful about anyone until I was provoked.
By someone calling me a thief and telling stuff like thats why I live with my mother. The fact still remains no one has ever answered my question.

how are you guys doing i was wondering what are some good attack/ release settings when using a compressor for hip hop music i think im allready headed in the right direction but i was wondering what everyone else's opinon is. my settings on the waves renaissance compressor at this moment :the ratio is like 5.50 gain reduciton is in between -3 and-6 wit the peeks at -8 my threshold is -21 release 478ms attack is 40ms gain is at 9 i think the gain is set to high possibly. i need help desperately im about to get five minutes of fame on a local radio station so any input would be helpful negative or positive. thank you

Why don't you ask someone locally who your local engineer is? It doesnt make much sense to ask people on a board where maybe 3% of the posters might be from your local area.

Just because it was waves doesnt mean he had the full $3000 platinum bundle. I think even Waves Ren comp could be purchased singaly back in the day.
