I need a two channel mic preamp that would supply 48V phantom to both channels. Both channels need a gain knob also. I will be running it into a TASCAM 488 (non MKII). Any suggestions? Oh yes, and I'm on a tight budget, so a good balance of value and quality.

Thanks,
Joe

since you mentioned tight budget,

Behringer Ultragain MIC2200! :)

Definitely Audio Buddy over the Behringer....if the budget allows $179, the Delta DMP2 is a great deal.....

I have a Presonus Bluetube ($150). Works great.

One thing I like about it is the Nutrik connectors on the front and back... you can plug either 1/4" or XLR into any of the inputs or outputs.

I just bought the Blue Tube today and it sounds awesome! thanks for the advice!

Blue Tube?...sorry to hear about that:D

hope it works well for ya...

Gidge, why do you prefer Audio buddy to the behringer? just wanna know... :)

cause it doesnt suck:D

...pretty similar sound to the DMP2, in my opinion, yet not as much headroom......its not a magnificent preamp, but its clean.....

Oh yeah...well my BlueTube has a tube in it.:D The AudioBuddy doesn't. Plus the BlueTube has the word Tube in it's name. :D
