ADD -- blessing and curse
I didn't know where to put this first statement, so I'll put it here.

I learned how to play some of "Inna Gada Da Vida"...
I can't do the upward arpeggio yet, but I can do the da da da-da-da-da dum dum dum part...

Ok...on to the guitars...

I have a Takamine EG 334SBC that I play acoustically. It's a nice guitar. I'm considering buying the Takamine GB-7. I was wondering if anyone could give me some reviews of this particular guitar.

Also, I want to purchase the Fender Highway 1 Strat with the clearcoat (just looks like the wood finish) with the maple fretboard. Any opinions on that one?

Also, what's a good Martin to buy for $500 or so? A/E Martin if possible.

Also, has anyone heard anything on that new Ovation MOB? My girlfriend wants to buy one.

Also, could anyone recommend some good acoustic, electric, and bass amps that cost no more than about $600?

Gracias!

Takamine overall is a great guitar but like many there are exceptions. Play them and see what you think. I played a few when I bought mine and some sounded great and some sounded like poop.

Great guitar for the money...

For that kind of money, look for a used D15. All solid mahogany. I love mine.

... about those highway strats:

i cannot confirm this a 100% as i never took a closer look myself but a friend told me they have an awful type of finish. very cheapish and kind of sticky & stuff - even seems to be getting off soon!?!

so you might take a closer look yourself before you throw out your money!

fretless

do not buy any martin under the d-18. they are all laminated wood with like a 40 piece headstock. the neck will bow, the top will bow, and the finish is not good. they are $150 guitars with a $350 logo on the head. avoid them. i like martins more than any other acoustic guitars, but a $500 martin is not really a martin it's just a pile.

also avoid ovation. they may sound cool pluged in, but they don't sound like a real acoustic guitar, and you'll never be able to record a real guitar sound.

highway 1 strat is cool. i like it. if you like it go for it, i see no problem with it.

your first post was definatly the weirdest most random post i've ever seen.
