Ok, on another board I read, it said dithering down from 96 khz down 2 44.1 khz for CD reaks havoc causing error on the audio file.(because something about like its not an even mathmatical equation) , and it said something like 88.2 should be used.IS this true?Also if it is, does this work the same way with bit depth?

A conversion from 96K to 44.1 is a sample rate conversion, dithering is used to convert bit depths (e.g. 24 bit to 16 bit).

Changing bit depths uses a different type of math that's based on truncation or rounding values (this is where dithering comes in). So equal division doesn't apply here.
