I knew I held off on the Triton for some reason

and it is the Triton STUDIO!

This thing is the be all and end all of home recording for the keyboardist. It even samples audio tracks for real instruments and vocals!!!!:D

Price is quite high, but considering all the gear that get's replaced by it, very reasonable.

Oh, did I mention the built in CD-R that records honest to God audio CD's?:cool:

Seriously, I started in the recording business as a keyboardplayer, but gave up on that. For years I haven't played serious. I have some minor midi equipment in the studio (Korg N264, Yamaha MU90r, Alesis D4 and Roland A880) but the other day a guy with a trinity and a K2600 came recording. Boy did those sounds tempt me to buy a real synth and give it another go.

The K2600 is out of the question since i guess this is another thing i'm rushing into and will probably not keep up with, so it's a bit to expansive. I was looking at the triton LE though. Its affordable and has some fine specs. Are the sounds the same as the big tritons or less?

I will be using it for composing some ideas of my own.
 
I watched a demo on Korg's website and read a few online descriptions. There's also an ad in this month's issue of Keyboard.

All of these things lead me to believe that the Triton studio is capable of at least all of the sounds of it's predecessors with plenty of expansion capability for even more.

The Korg demo leads me to believe that everything that I (as a keyboard player) could need to home record is built in. (Although I understand now that the CD-R is purchased seperately).

Drum machine, sequencers (for MIDI) and the ability to record audio tracks are all there. There are even some rudementary effects (which I prolly won't use unless I'm on the go).

This brings the workstation to a new level. The ability to actually record audio and burn CD's right from the keyboard is the perfect solution for someone like me.:)

I heard those demos on the Korg site. Sounds pretty impressive.

Any idea of the cost?
