I take my coffee black.

Just like my men. Kidding. This was one of the funniest posts I've come across here. Still laughing as I type. And even funnier how a post like this receives so many replies say vs. posts that acutally ask something (stupid or not).

I can't wait to get my initiation. Do I get one? :D

Well, if it's an initiation you seek, I would suggest you say that coffee comment sometime in the cave. And do it later on in the evening. I'm sure they'll have fun with that one. :) :)

Speaking of which, anybody know what happened to the cave? Haven't seen it for a few days.

This weekend I got curious enough to go in there for the first time. Whoa! Flame wars a-go-go! So naturally I jumped right in.

We all get it I believe.

When I got my first, it was so bad I changed my name.
How can you actually stay off this site?

The people on this site are really awesome.
There really are alot of intelligent answers.
What's wrong with a little good clean fun eh?

Hang in there

My skin is thicker than that but...

I can't believe this post is still go'n on.
Chessrock it's as much your fault I got this mic (that I really like so far) as anyone else's and I'm a cheddar head so I take my coffee with real cream. "Silk" vanilla will work in a pinch, but never that powder stuff.
I'm just starting to put this all together and the only thing I have to compare it to are my R_S electrets to a Porta 03. Those need to be replaced with some 603s's unless S-P has something similar in the works. Their B-tube has me salivat'n, but the next thing I really need is a good DIO board. My short term goal is a nice portable recording rig. something I can carry on my back, or carry in one trip to/from the vehicle. I picked up a portable minidisc recorder (cheap sony) last year and think it's so cool and stealth.
Just hang'n

You're really going to like it a lot more, the more experience you get with it. It's kind of like that coffee analogy . . . once you go black, you'll never go back? :) :)

T-chance--ah, that's more like it, mate! Jump in the fray with us wacko's!

I love your idea of a portable recording setup. I have been thinking about the same for some time. I have the mics and a Sony recording Minidisc deck. What I need now is a battery powered mixer. The only thing I have found so far is a Behringer for $119 bucks. I suppose that it would do the job for the intended purpose. I would mainly be doing field sampling for sound effects and ambient tracks to lay into film.I need a mixer with phantom power, and I ain't gonna spend high dollars for this since its a specialized purpose and may not get a lot of use.

Are there any other cheap alternatives, like a cassette or DAT recorder that has LoZ inputs and phantom power?

Crawdad, the Behringer MXB1002(if that is the model you are looking at)only supplies 18v(or something like that)when it is battery powered.I couldn't find the English version of my manual but I'm pretty sure of 18v.Be enough for some mics.I haven't had any problems with my MXB and it is still working which is a plus given what you hear about Behringer mixers.Seems pretty solid and it is pretty quiet. All in all I'm pretty happy with it.My only bitch is that before I bought it some things that I had read indicated that it had five channel inserts but it only has two.Still pretty useful.

I want to know who statecap was

I could have been part of it

Statecap used to go by the name "Harvey Gerst," but after too much rough play, he decided to re-register.

No, I believe that was actually Stephen Paul you were thinking of. :)
