Maybe we need a new rule or parhaps a few lines of code to prevent this crap. Wouldn't it be cool if Newbies couldn't insert any web links into their posts until they've been a member at least 30 days?

Just a thought.

robots. and also robot propaganda.

This was probably posted by a person. Most forums require a manual registration just to avoid this sort of thing. My guess is these are morons who bought into a work at home scam, and for their $200 or whatever they get a web page to link to sell bogus viagra etc, and are told to spam as many places as they can. This is not unlike the idiots who stick signs on telephone poles offering to buy your house or sell you insurance.

Hey, not all "n00bz" are spammers :( I feel I have useful links to contribute! Well, not to this particular thread, but you get the idea.

Yes, I realize that, but is your link so important that it couldn't wait until after a short probationary period?

Well... yeah, I guess so, but I think the better idea would be to have the sign-up process be a little more extensive. Even just having one of those "type these characters" things most of them have now seems like an obvious good idea.

Just a thought!
