hello eceryone i asked everyone if wuhan was good, they said that only some of the chinas were good, well i didnt listen to them and i went ahead and bought a wuhan ride, boy were they right, wuhan makes a pretty good china but the ride i bought is so awful i feel like throwing it out my bedroom window when i hear it, pass it on

Wuhans are very hit or miss. I have alot of China's that I love. I have a 16" S-series crash that is darn good, 2 12" splashes that are awesome and 3 10" spalshes that range from wonderful to pathetic.

The worst Wuhans are the hi-hats! They are all white noise, the edges don't line up/aren't flat, and they are FREAKISHLY LOUD!!!

What are you gonna do with the ride? I like to expirement with cymbals will you let it go for cheap?

Yea, I got a 12" china, and it was TERRIBLE!!! But I'm still tempted to get a 27" china...

Neil Peart has always used a Wuhan as one of his further away chinas, and still does even though he now has his signature Paragon Series by Sabian including 2 different chinas.

I used to have a 16" Wuhan china and it was an OK effect, I just never ended up using it much because I already have two other chinas mounted.

Then for some reason, now I have a 21" china, but the same thing applies to this one as the previous one...I don't use it much. I guess I just bought them because they're so damn cheap! The 16" was like 40$ CDN. They have a very trashy, short decay so they're good for quick biting accents, but you have to give them a pretty good smack to get a loud enough desired sound out of them.

I have one wuhan 16" chines. And i am very happy with that. Love the sound for so little money.
Have never tryed the rides or hi hats. guess they suck

and IMO, that's everything that a china should be. get in, get out, take no prisoners. :D

...and that's exactly what i love about my 12" wuhan china....

cheers,
wade

Man, i have 4 china's (RUDE 18", 2002 20", 2002 Novo 18" and 20" Wuhan) and it's a safe bet the Wuhan is the worst of the lot in terms of quality. Wuhan basically is a very cheap solution with enough venom to make an impact, as long as you have other cymbals backed up as an antidote. :)

Good point Wade! To tell the truth, all my Wuhans sound a little funny to me when I'm at the throne. But all the audience hears is white noise and attack. Same thing when I record. The Wuhan Chinas do there job quite well.

The new Euro style cymbals get real iffy...

I have Wuhan hats, a 16" crash and 20" ride for my second kit. The hats sound great, the crash is heavy and you really have to nail it to get a decent sound from it, The ride is a little washy but can be controlled and sounds good IMO. For $135 bucks for all four cymbals I couldn't be happier. Yeck, I have had and still have various top line Zilds and Paiste's that cost twice as much per than all four Wuhans combined that sounded/sound much worse. It's hit and miss with any cymbals.
