can you give us an example of one of your chord progressions and the scale you want to play over it?

Alright, like I said I just started really trying to learn the names and notes so I believe this is it.

Dm -
Fmaj7 -
Fsus4/A#sus2 (not sure the difference) -
notes are c,e,a#,c

I put these into a chord finder so this is the only way i know what they are. So what kind of scales could I use because what I played didn't sound bad, just didn't sound real good.

The difference between Fsus4 and A#sus2 is just a matter of which key you're playing in.

Dm = D F A
Fmaj7 = F E A C
Fsus4 = F C Bb

Maybe try playing C E F C, or C E Bb C instead of C E A# C.
