Here's a first mix of a new song, so i know there will be plenty to critique. Fire away. Thanks for your fresh ears.

No, I am annoying.cellardweller said:Personal quirk~ I find it obnoxious when the song plays "automatically".
If I decided I wanted to hear, I would hear.
It's just kinda annoying IMO.

I hear (in my music mind) a distant vocal (echoing both of your voices perhaps)with some powerful and haunting emotion.
I think it would be nice with a longer instrumental intro.
I like the lead vocals and the harmony...her voice sets good with yours.
The mix sounds pretty good to me.![]()

The only improvement I can think of is some kind of increased dynamics. I seem to hear too much "constantness" in volume/energy in HRs these days (including mine), which is probably a result of too much "automation" at our hands. It'd be nice to hear some fluctuation in this song.
Interesting comment on the "autoplay". I don't find that a problem -- I like it. If I'm going to a music site, I expect to hear music. If I went to a text site and it returned a button saying "click to read what is on this site" I think that would be annoying.
Have fun

The guitar in the verses has a nice warm welcoming tone, but the guitar in the chorus (slightly distorted guitar) is very harsh. The highs need to be dragged down and boost the lows to mid lows just to take the edge off.
The guitar panned to the left during the verses would benefit the whole mix if it was boosted in volume by a few db's. The whole mix seems to be over-balanced on the right hand side.
Also the heavier guitar that is played during the chorus would open the tune up if that was panned hard left "AND" hard right. It would give the whole mix some strength in the body of the song.
The guitar tone in the solo however was great, very emotive, I would of liked it to stretch out a little longer!
A nice relaxing tune opensky, I enjoyed it very much. It has a slight Pearl Jam type aura to it, which is a good thing!![]()
Thanx for sharing.

The biggest suggestions I would make are to have the lead vocal be the lead.
To me this might make a better impact on the song.

The song is very catchy, Some comments would be that i feel the guitar in the chorus is to distorted and sounds a bit muddy. the snare could do with some bite, maybe a little compression. also how about the drummer starts off playing a rim shot in the verse?
I'd love to hear some string pads in this song too.
