Because they are awesome. I just picked up the TP and it's exactly what I was looking for.

But I come to find out that Stienberg in their infinite wisdom has dumped the product. Why? Who knows, but it was a stupid decision.

I honestly like this thing so much I wouldn't mind adding a couple of the FDs as well. However they appear to be impossible to buy. There seems to be an abundance of the shitty pad controller though, not all that surprisingly.

That sucks!

You may want to buy another TP. I need to as the play button stopped working on mine. Way out of warranty. Got a couple years out of it tho.

Only $50 at Zsounds. Just bought another myself.

I noticed it was shown as discontinued at Sweetwater. Has it been officially announced that they are actually not making them anymore?

Edit: Never mind. I saw the thread at Steiny.net.

Let me know if you would like me to grab you a backup one before they are gone.

By the way, the CH is also quite cool. Had a Faderport for a while but the pan knob would not work well with Cubase. The touch fader and knob on the CH work very smoothly.

I don't use it as much as the Transport (TP) tho.

ARG!!!

I should have asked first if anyone knew of a cheaper source. That didn't come up as an option when looking online. I forked $100 for mine.

But yeah incredibly stupid of steinberg for ditching such a good product line (sans the pads lol).

I had an alphatrack forever ago. I hated the buttons, but the fader was solid. The resolution on the knobs was crap though, I don't know if they ever got around to fixing it.

I twas the last one I found on Amazon. They are getting really hard to find.

I wanted a couple Fader ones... lol yeah right.
