And hard? By either someone, or something.

Song writers are not what I would consider to be "normal" people.

They are people (typically) who can channel their experiences in to words and melodies, through which others can relate?

So there for (again my belief) when the damage occurs "to that region?" and there are many ways to be kicked in the .... Many ways. When one is kicked hard enough? And or long enough? And one is sufficiently artistic? What comes pouring out the other end? (the mouth...) Is words and music.

My 2 cents. Please stop kicking, I've been kicked enough. It's currently pouring out both ends.

Robby, Robby, Robby. No one around here's kicking you in the nuts. So far all damage has been self inflicted. Lighten up and try to have some fun.

There's your song right there. They do say great writing comes from pain. All you need is a hook and tighten up those lyrics a bit and you're golden.

Rock on, brother. :guitar:

I haven't a clue what in the world you're talking about.
Care to shed some light ?

I believe this is a William Shatner imitaion.

Pain, suffering and frustration aren't the only emotions that spark artistic expression.... Can a person who is never happy write an honest, joyful song?

But it's never cool to be happy or satisfied... is it?

Ram by Paul and Linda is full of happy and cool.

Most people I know of aren't able to write unless they're sad or angry.
I'm kind of the opposite. I have to be in a good mood to write. A hopeful/curios/driven one. If I'm in a shit mood I definitely don't want to pick up a guitar or start my DAW. Granted I do draw on the feelings of when I was in a shit mood when I'm writing lyrics or something.
And occasionally if my mood is shit I'll play drums along to Carcass or something.
I've never been able to write or be creative when I'm pissed though. I normally just sit like this ::mad:
