i'm intensely interested in their newest model, the korg er1mkII. anyone have any experience with these, i love my little er1. that thing is truely amazing when it comes to producing good, quality beats. i assume the mkII is equally, if not alot better.

I sold an EM-1 thinking the new one (EMX-1 - the blue one with the tubes) would be identical but on steroids. Turns out that while similar in concept they are very different machines with a very different set of quirks and quombles.
Keep your ER-1 until you're quite sure the MK II will replace it in every way...

BTW - know anyone w/an EM-1 to sell cheap?

ah, but i have no intention to EVER sell my er1. that gear will always stay with me, i've already owned it for over 4 years =)
i was also looking at a em1, it seems pretty cool and like a combination of both an er1 and a ea1.

Yeah, in a way. But the EA-1 is limited by it's being a TB-303 imitation first and everything else second...

The EM-1 is very much it's own beast with it's own vibe and soundset. If there were any justice in the world the EM-1 would be considered a classic instead of going for $150 on ebay.
