Hey Pete:

Yessssss!

I like this a ton. That harmonica's sweet...I could actually stand having it up a db or 2, BECAUSE IT'S SWEET.

Nice job. Call me weird, but as far as effects go, I don't think this needs anything.

dang pete...I listen to this..as compared to when you first started posting.. This is MILES beyond what you did back when. This is just great. Nice and up front and punchy and organized..for a lack of better terms. I like it A LOT!! You're on to something... I might only diddle with the drums a little on a mix...like a slight verb to put them in a nice cedar walled room...the rest I like as is. Great tracking.

2nd thought...I tried a little reverb on the whole mix..(thinking it would kick the drums mostly...which it did), and I didn't like it. Keep your version as is...

cool toonie pete!

you must be using the octava mc012's also? I can hear the extreme sensitivty in the mics. the tone also. which their known for.

harp sounds really cool... adds a bunch to this.

it really has a nice almost country chill vibe to it.

their are a couple parts you might wanna use noise reduction on when you just hear the guitar because you can hear background noise. do a snapshot in a NR plugin of the room noise and remove it.

sounds like your using a mic pair spread x/y? about 90-100 degrees?

awsome job pete... keep at it!

:)
Digging this...you have to be a Young fan.
...
Not missing effects at all, in fact this sounds really great. Thos drums are awesome, even with the fakest hihat closing sound I've ever heard (here's where I find out it's real). Do something with the splash and maybe ease up on the guitar panning a bit, and it's perfect.

Very nice playing At least 5 stars, super clean, and all the timing is superb! Now , I have to ask you how you got that wonderful stereo spread and movement on the guitars? Also that lead guitar tone is fantastic when contrasted with the rhythm it just dances joyfully in my head ,( got cans on at midnight), how was that accomplished a well. drums fit real nice, You should be proud of this. Someday Maybe Ill get a little closer to this. This is a keeper as is.:D

Peace
Bill

powderfinger-Hi Drew,
Thanks for the suggestion,I'll definitly give it a try.

JMarcomb-Hey Jeff,
Thanks very much, coming from an acoustic ace like you, that's a real compliment!
Really glad you liked the sound.

The rythym part is doubled,I only have one small cap right now.

I don't have any noise reduction yet, guess I'll have to watch it next time.:D

Thanks.

jake-owa-I put a call into Tom,let's see if he gets back to me!
Thanks

chrisharris-Hey Chris!
Thanks my friend, glad you liked the harp.
Don't know if I could turn it up any,it's pretty much maxed right now.

"Call me weird, but as far as effects go, I don't think this needs anything."

O.K.,your weird, but I'm not going to add any effects anyway!:D

Thanks man.

mixmkr-Hey Chris, thanks for taking the time to listen!
I have to agree with you, sounds better than most of my other stuff.
Problem is,I don't know why?

Mabey because I only used a small dia.condenser, and no big production.
No vox either.
Or it's the lack of processing and I really hit the levels hard too.

Like I was telling Kramer,I even recorded this in 16 bit by mistake.

I guess mabey,if your not an experienced engineer, engineer as little as possible!:D

Thanks.

Doug H-Thanks man,I appreciate the listen.
Ya,Neil's the man!

Glad you thought it sounded o.k. without effects.
Thanks for the drum tips!

I agree about the guitar panning,I usually don't pan them so wide.
I did it to help seperate everything since I couldn't do any eq cuts.

wfaraoni-Hi Bill!
Thanks for the listen my friend.
I really appreciate your kind words!

The acoustics are two takes,I played it twice and panned it wide.
The lead is the same mic, just a little closer to the guitar panned straight up.

I really think I have to stop messing with my acoustic tracks, and leave them raw!

I could listen to your fine playing anytime Bill, especially the fingerstyle stuff.
Wish I could play like that!

Hope your backs feeling better man!

Thanks,
Pete
