At the bottom of the page: "We Haven't Named It Yet"

LOL! That's the kind of thing I would do!:D However my working titles are usually vulgar, and based on innuendo.

Diggin' the lyrics. I'm sure anybody who's spent some time in the biz can relate.;)

Nice riffin in there guys.:)

My only nit-pick would be the drum sounds, but they aren't bad for canned. The kick is pretty soft, and the snare & ride cymbal are really one-dimensional.

Good job gentlemen!

this is rockin n hoppin. Very nice work. I know you aint through twistin on it yet. :)

Nice jam. You definately have some room to beef up the bass and get the groove pumping. I wouldn't mind hearing the guitar come through a little more. Is it a POD? I love the vocal sound, great texture.

So, Sluice....it was YOU who took the beer? Hey, check your PM's, OK?

HEY!!!!!

I need those beers dammit!!! :D
They feed the Lt. Bob Experience.:D:D

Hey Al......I used my Ampeg V-2 last night.....holy crap!.....I've found amp nirvana......it just honked! I'm in loooooooove! :)

Another Excellent Collab!

Excellent you guys! I am not posting mix stuff on these things, just sitting back, downloading, enjoying and looking forward to making a comp album of all of them when they are done.

This thing totally rocks!

:D

Holy crap! So that's what we really sound like? LOL! This is the first time I've heard all the parts in the mix, and I have to admit, it sounds a lot better than I ever imagined. All the horns add alot. Nice job Lt.

I agree I'd like a little more bottom end on this, I thought the bass line was absolutely outstanding. No, not a POD, it's an old Digitech GSP 21 rackmount with LOTS of sounds.

For the first time, I'm really stumped as far as a title for the tune. Anybody got any suggestions?

The acapella suggestion is interesting to me, but I don't know where you'd put it.

This was a great project, and even though I was a little stressed over getting it done, it was a lot of fun too. Lt. Bob was really a good partner for me, and made the whole thing pretty easy. We're close in age, so even though we're a couple thousand miles apart, we were mentally and musically face to face. Not to mention he really has been around the block a time or two, and could probably do this with his eyes closed. He's the one that really crafted the song. I just sent him my tracks with complete permission to use as much or as little of it as he needed. I had no idea when I recorded the vocal that it would be the final. It was my second take (after I accidentally erased the first one), but it was the better one anyway. With more time I would have done a few more takes on the guitar solo to get it a little smoother, but it's OK. Thanks again Lt. Bob for a great project!

Ahem........after a week, I really thought there would be more songs up. We're not done are we?

I should have ours (Crawdad) up within a week. I'm working on getting some amp issues resolved quickly. I'm also hoping that some of the pairs will see your song and the other couple and get their asses moving! So far they've been fantastic songs.

Oh and Twist...GREAT job on this man.

Twist

How about "The Real Deal"?:)

Raaaaawk 'n' Raaaaaaaaaaawllllll LOL :D

Fun song. Well recorded. Great solos.

I likey! :D

This rocks, guys.

I didn't read all the posts, but I think someone said to raise the guitar solo a bit. I second that.

Veeeerrrrrrry nice work!

nice old school vibe.....very nice job for a collab guys.....

great instrument mix

Analytical Man......thanks for listening............I liked your collab too! This was fun huh? :)

Guernica......thanks for the bass props man.....means a lot coming from you. I have a new band with a very good young bass player and the other night I blew him away with your bass solo in 'Monkey Feet'.......he was very impressed. Thanks again.

Sluice........thanks buddy......this challenge was very interesting. I am a little surprised about how many folks joined in only to dissappear once submission time came. Oh well.......maybe 6 weeks wasn't enough.

sjcrts......thanks for listening.....it's much appreciated.

groucho.....yep, you hit on the big issue, it is 'harsh' for sure. Ya' know, in my opening post I almost mentioned that 'cause it was bothering me. You've seen me comment on harshness in recordings before so I was aware of it but I hoped that if I didn't mention it, maybe no one would notice. HAH!!! Fat chance around here. The funny thing is that when the parts are soloed they're not harsh at all. It's some sort of cumulative thing........and perhaps if I panned things out a little more; that might help. I'm gonna remix it at some point although I'm too busy right now. Thanks for the comments.

Emeric......I had worried that I had too much bottom going on but obviously not. So I will correct that in the remix. Thanks.

freshears.........appreciate it man........and now I have to get to my other collabs.....including [Itwo[/I] with you! :)

studioviols.........yeah......the git ride needs to come up.......I will take care of that for sure and I thank you for the listen and the suggestion. BTW.....I'm still wondering what part of La. you're in.......I'm Baton Rouge myself.

Doug H..............thanks man.......my sax thanks you too!

M. Brane.......yep....the kick is soft and fluffy, and not in the good 'sheep' sort of way. :D I'll have to tweak on that and maybe look for some other sounds......it's all keyboard though so I can't use samples.

Toki..........thanks bro......I should have some tracks for you pretty soon.

Tex......another vote to boost the wimpy bass huh?......I think I'm seeing a pattern here. :)

crawdad........help me find my beer! Hey.......only 340 days 'till the next 'Bobfest'.....can't wait. Maybe you and I should go to the next jamfest together.

Boydrj........appreciate it my brother...........we only seem to have three of the things done yet.....weren't there like 50 or 60 people clammoring to get in on it? We're waiting everyone. ( I can say that now that mine is done ;)).

Twist........what fun. Yeah.....the consensus seems to be that the bass needs to get boosted. I'll do that whenever I remix it plus I'm pretty interested in seeing how you mix it. I'll try to get you those tracks in a week or two.......I'm pretty busy getting a new band rolling but I will get them to you. I guess I might as well send all the tracks, including the individual drum tracks huh? Or do you have some saved that I don't need to send?
I enjoyed working with you and I couldn't have asked for a better partner for this. HEY!!! We made a song! :)

skids........I like the name, "the Real Deal" If it's ok with Twist (as he wrote most of the lyrics) I think we'll go with that...Thanks!

Pedullist.........thanks for listening. I got your e-mail and I'll check that song out tonight when I get a chance. Also, I've decided on some CDs for you and I'll be burning those this week sometime.

dachay2tnr........thanks man.........how's the CD coming?

powderfinger.......I'm glad you liked it. I love doing collabs.....it's one of the most enjoyable things I do and I thank you for listening.

Everybody..........I appreciate you all taking the time to listen. It takes a certain amount of time and effort to listen and post a response and I promise you.....I don't take it for granted. You're the guys that make this site so special to me and I consider you all my friends.....thanks a BUNCH!!!! :D:):D:):D:)

Well I'm finally done unpacking.......almost.

rustyfingers Thanks for the listen. Not so hard really, thanks to a great partner!

skids Thanks for the compliments, I'm betting there's a remix in the works.

Ralph Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Coming from you, that's a real compliment!

Khompewter Again, thanks for the listen. I grew up playing songs just like this, so it seemed like pretty stock stuff to me, but I felt like that's what was called for on this one. I wanted it to stay in the intended genre.

dobro I know it was tongue in cheek, but you're welcome to do a rap if you want. I could have said disco, but it's harder to rhyme.

Dad Yep, it would be great live, but I'm not sure how many saxes Lt. Bob can play at once.

Jim Thanks!

Analytcal Howdy neighbor! I drove right past your place on Saturday!

What up G Thanks for the listen. I can't sing like that for long, it's not real natural for me. Kinda hard on the throat. Listen for the low voice on the repeating lick "have a lobotomy" etc. That's Steve.

SLuiCe Thankyou and you're welcome. Ya know, I just hate that Bob Seger song (played to death), but I just couldn't help borrowing a little from him here. Hope he doesn't mind too much.

Scott Thanks, glad you liked it.

groucho Thanks Chris!

Emeric I love acapella, but......... Thanks again!

freshears Thanks! It really was fun. I'm ready for another one!

studioviols I appreciate all your comments. Real studio? I've got my hands full right here in the basement!

Doug H Thanks for checkin us out!

M.Brane Thanks!

Toki Thanks for checkin back!

Tex "Great texture" Wow, did I do that? Must have been an accident! Thanks.

SLuiCe Hi.

boydrj Comp. cd. Good idea! We're just a few songs short;)

SLuiCe Really looking forward to hearing you and Al. It just has to be good!

skids "The Real Deal" sounds good to me! Thanks.

Ped No, you raaaawk man! Thanks.

dachay Thanks!

powder Thanks for the listen!

Lt. Bob I still have all the drum tracks you sent me. All I need is the saxes and your vocals. No rush, send 'em when you have time. Thanks again partner!

Again, thanks to everyone here for making this happen!

HOLY CRAP!!! I MISSED SOME PEOPLE

I didn't mean to !!! Really!!
I was just going back down the post screen and it didn't go back far enough so:

Khompewter thanks for checking it out. We figured a straight ahead rock and roll song would be the easiest to get done, especially since we knew little about each other. I was fairly happy with what we got although the mix needs tweaking. I'll do that in my spare time! Thanks man

Rustyfingers Appreciate your time. We had fun, fun fun doing this.....it's nice to have people listen to it.

dobro How's things over there? :) The one thing that's clear in my mind is that the git needs to come up. :D I'm gonna try to do a remix and fix that and the bass this week sometime.

flat-9 Always appreciate any comments from you seeing as how you're a keyboard monster. I heard you on the stream from the jamfest. Sounded like the only way ya'll could have had more fun was to have me there.

JimSoloway......I'm glad you liked it. We had a good time doing it.

OK, I think I got everyone this time.
