DEAR HRC #4

Last weekend me and the rest of the band ran into "Mystyc Sapphyre" at the Z101.1 Battle of the Bands at Zimbabwe's on Rte. 4. Marc their guitarist had used the exact same shades that I had on his eyes but worse! his complexion looked so much creamier than mine and his hair just had much more zest and volume. Not to mention his wardrobe made me feel like I'd been shopping at Strawberry's. To make a long story short, they ran off with all the available groupies AND Dave's girlfriend!! and in the middle of "Potions of the Dy'r Gaffer" the gave us the finger during Boom's drum solo!

How can i compete with Mark, is he using better foundations? Are there some eye shades I know he'll never find? What kind of products can i use to maximize my long auburn hair?

Signed,
Glum Glam in Gloomville

Haha, rats i just read the second half of your log, it gets pretty interesting in the second half.

Your intro reminds me of a voiceover for an MTV reality series.

"Two guys, two talents, a tape recorder, and one house, cameras all the time!"

Dear Glum Glam in Gloomville

We at HRC4 can definitely feel your pain. You have many issues at stake; let's tackle them one at a time.

First off, the complexion--for a truly flawless complexion, one really needs the use of a good airbrush...just spray straight on the skin, after mixing up the proper shade! (The scary thing is...just today I actually saw a can of airbrush foundation...I bought it just to see what the hell it does. It seems kind of scary, but apparently is all the rage with actual makeup artists...which I have done in an earlier job stint, by the by.) For the ultimate in flawlessness...try a good spackle and putty knife followed by your skintone in a semi-matte spraypaint...preferably Dutchboy brand.

As for the auburn locks, I recommend first of all to just go ahead and cut it off. All those damn glams look alike anyway! If you really want to wow the ladies (or men), you need to stand out! If this is not possible, then try a good henna wash to really bring out the sheen, or perhaps one of the colored shampoo/conditioner combos (leave the conditioner in for about 5 minutes or longer) to really bring out the reddish color in your hair.

If you want a good wardrobe at Strawberry's prices, better buy a sewing machine...can't help much there. I've always found a few good scarves worn in creative ways can work wonders...

And the eyes? Well, it's a well known concept that from the beginning of cosmetics, natural substances were used. Why not try taking some dirt, and the juices of your favorite colored fruits to mash into a paste...press into a cake, and let dry. Smooth some of that concoction on your face for a color no one can buy. The sky's the limit!

Good luck Glum Glam, keep your head up. Time heals all.:D

Khompy and Macy's...you two crack me up. ;) Thanks for all the hair care tips, Kirsten. It's truly more than I even asked for, and I know these guys really appreciate it. Believe me, there are some lurkers taking notes.....

PROBABLY NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!! Thanks for needing them...it's fun. Anything to help a fellow homewrecker.

Hevy D and I are making tracks. It hasn't been the smoothest sail on the sea, but we're making it happen.

I'm following Khompewtur's lead and chronicling our progress on a web page. There's some pretty boring dialogue as I'm not editing our email correspondence, but there's good stuff here as we poke and prod to sort of get an idea what the other guy's all about. :D

This thing is already turning into quite a learning experience, I'm glad I decided to play.

HevyD and rats collaborate for HRChallenge 4

Hey rats, I read your chronicle. Total reality TV. That moment there where it got all silent. Yikes! Props to both of you for working it out. Looking forward to the next episode. I hope things go well...on the other hand, I hope they don't , cuz that's better TV! :p

(Hi, btw. Remember me from a million years ago?)

what you could only read through the first hundred?;)

I wanted to make sure I left some time to mix another collaboration I've got going on. I'll give you a hint ...horns and a pedulla.

But anyway, I just started reading the rest and it's getting very interesting!

Oh and...from your text "I wonder if Sluice realizes on how many different levels this idea of his is going to effect people on."

That's why I'm trying to stay on top of it. I think I have a glimpse of what might happen, but I can only imagine the rest. The real product will be in the music, though, no? I hope no one has to go through any major personal problems for this, but that is I suppose part of the risk...

Back to reading your very interesting thread....

Tom

Finished!

Damn Rats, if all the collaborations proceed as interestingly as yours and Heavy's, I sure hope more people document it. That was truly fascinating. Thank you very much for sharing!

More please...

Stay in, Sluice. I'm really looking forward to a few of these projects. What a good idea.

Let the games commence... :D

Re: STANDBY LIST

At the bottom of this post is my current list of people who need new partners for whatever reasons. Except for those people who just haven't yet heard from their partner, who else needs to be added to my "REMIX" list? In other words, you either haven't been paired at all and want to be, or your partner has dropped out from the challenge altogether.

Friday afternoon before I go away for the weekend I'll be posting a "final" list of pairs. Of course others may drop out after which and I'll do my best to help find another partner. But I'd like for everyone to be able to move on to the project planning part of this by next week, so if you're just not sure if you're gonna be able to do this by August, now if the time to drop your ass out.

Standby List:

xacfoo
Dimchandeliers
wfaraoni

Please let me know if I missed anyone.

Tom

Are you and I involved in a feud I don't know about? :(

Hello!?

If SLuiCE is dropping out, can I drop in? :)

Sorry Mark...this was the last thing I read from you. Sounded like a joke to me. I'll add you to the list if you're serious. I asked that people send me a private message if they wanted to be included so I wouldn't have to interpret things like that. No worries....thanks.

I remember you as my favorite my songwriter on the board, should I remember you from somewhere else?

Looked at your pic on Nowhere radio and you look familiar. I hate that. A few weeks ago I'm standing in line outside a concert waiting for the doors to open and I see this girl waving in my general direction. I don't recognize her so I figure she's waving at someone else. She comes closer, smiling (at me? couldn't be.) Then she walks right up to me and gives me a big smiley "hey!"

I panic. "Oh HEEYY", I reply like I just recognized who it was, which I didn't. "What's going oooon?".

We went through a couple niceties, I play it off somehow with small talk about the show we were obviously both there to see, she leaves with her friend. Found out later that I work with her. Really weird stuff.

Sluice, just letting you know i got onto Jake so we're good to go. I've missed a few pages here but you better be in it man!

Sorry, I didn't read that bit (it's all got a bit overwhelming). Yeah, I'm in. Though I really have to buy myself a RCA to Stereo 1/8 cable. And maybe I should search the archives for posts on getting stuff from your analog deck to your PC.

Any chance any of these collabs will come up with a previously unthought of fusion style? Like Reggae Metal, say!

Twist and I are on top of it......for a regular update on our progress.....drop by the house! :D

Ok guys, me and Eddy (esco1) are in.....its gonna be 80's metal/country meets Latin style:D

this rocks........
