SluiCe--Good suggestion! Anyway, new message is forthcoming!

Muuaaa ha ha ha!!! Hey Analytical check your mail.

He sent me a full length skeleton idea already, be afraid people be very.. afraid!!!

I posted a kind of log of our progress, maybe others will want to try the same thing. I'm sure we'll all want to see this from everyone at the end. If there's a more professional way i should organize this information log, please let me know.

hrc#4 Analytical Khompetur production notes

There's no audio here and won't be till the end OF COURSE

Ok folks, the sun is already well above Gotham, time for beddie bye. Night, night.

Cool as Khomp...good idea to keep a log, be good to look back on.

I still havnt heard from Jake-Owa...you still in man or what??!

Brett, did you PM him? Let me know if you don't hear anything in the next couple days. We need to allow reasonable time for people to check in and confirm their commitment.

The JuiCe is flowing between me and MBUSTER.It's PM central right now but we're both very happy to be paired with each other.Tom I was just kidding about the rigged comment.Come now,I am a sensative musician ,too ,but don't bitch out man!You obviously put thought and time into arranging all of this so you could atleast participate. All in good fun,you know as well as anyone else that you don't have to defend your honour.I'm surprised you didn't see it comming...it's just a razz to make you squirm.A little of,"...well,if I can't play/record like him, maybe I can make him uncomfortable for a spell...hmmm...",.Ha!Anyway,thanx for orchastrating all of this madness. What was the deadline for completion ,again?

For all you guys needing some help in this capacity...we'll throw you a bone...

To be truly hip, take care to avoid the hair rut; change up your style every now and then. It keeps things interesting. Nothing sparks up the day like a new part, a dash of color or a dazzling new updo. And you'll be sure to turn heads.

Haaaaahaaaaa.
Prozkgrl, I had a bit of trouble sending you an email last night, it came back to me, but I re-sent it from hotmail, and I think you'll get it this time.

Stay tuned for the complete line of tips...

As far as a guy with long ,unruly hair goes, what conditioners can you recomend?I'm in the sun all day and my hair flips out 5 days a week at least.I use a leave in as well as my regular conditioner ,but still have frizz attack. If I spend a night in a smokey bar forget it.I feel like a fag asking but, since you offered tips,I said what the hell...Later. ;)

Yeah, I'm a little confused about the deadline as well. Would you care to clarify Sluice?

Well, W.I.S.C., many women would envy you, and we here at haircare central might tell you to let it fly au naturel, baby! The ethnic look isn't all bad, you know. But, if it's truly intolerable to you, perhaps it's not as much the conditioner you should worry about, but a leave-in serum to keep the frizz at bay. I have straight, no frizz, hair myself, but I hear this stuff works. Try some John Frieda hair serum, which can likely be bought at your local Wal-Mart, or drug store. There are much better, more expensive salon versions...if this stuff does the trick, you may want to upgrade to something with a little more "color", an adjective any homereccer can appreciate! Good luck, and keep us posted! Perhaps you'll discover a few tips you can share with us! ;)

Hope I've been of some help! Now, can y'all tell me how to do this HRC4 thing? Give me some tips? Haaaa haaa! :D

Do have some questions, though. I am a little unclear on all the rules. Okay...we have to write the song, record the song, do any mixing on the song, etc, but are there guidelines about getting other outside people to actually play parts that these two girls would not normally be able to play? Or be willing to f--k up? If WE record it? Or, do we need to keep things simple enough that only the two of us can do all the work necessary. For example, neither of us know squat about drums, but could in a pinch try to program something. But, real would be better...could I record my boyfriend playing drums? Or not? We don't want to break rules, and we also are interested in forcing ourselves to do it all, but we also want it to SOUND decent (though there are no guarantees about this whatsoever) so what's a girl to do?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!
Kirstin

Hi folks...let me see if I can cover everything without my brain blowing up.

First thing, WISC and others....I'm really sorry about flipping out about the "accusations." I've already explained why I thought what I did so I won't go there again. But thanks for your patience. You're all cool...I guess I don't always read the text from enough possible angles.

Next to answer Kmartgirl and a few others...
The target dates for completion should be August 1-10. This is to not overwhelm the board with HRC 4. If you guys start posting a few tunes before the 1st that's probably fine, and after is probably fine. They're just target dates.
Kgrl, as for getting outside help, I would personally discourage it as it sits slightly outside the ideas of this thing...one of which is simply to make the best of what you've got to work with- which I think should be a home recordist's battle cry. I would rather hear your "f--ckups" because it's the energy I wanted to hear from everyone as teams. BUT, for example, it will be hard probably for Crawdad and me to resist the temptation of calling Lt. Bob for a sax ride for our tune. So do what you must to make your best music is my suggestion. It's a challenge, not a contest. But I'd try to keep it between the partners as much as possible... How's that?

Anything else? Post away...

STANDBY LIST

At the bottom of this post is my current list of people who need new partners for whatever reasons. Except for those people who just haven't yet heard from their partner, who else needs to be added to my "REMIX" list? In other words, you either haven't been paired at all and want to be, or your partner has dropped out from the challenge altogether.

Friday afternoon before I go away for the weekend I'll be posting a "final" list of pairs. Of course others may drop out after which and I'll do my best to help find another partner. But I'd like for everyone to be able to move on to the project planning part of this by next week, so if you're just not sure if you're gonna be able to do this by August, now if the time to drop your ass out.

Standby List:

xacfoo
Dimchandeliers
wfaraoni

Please let me know if I missed anyone.

Uh, KMARTGIRL!!!???? I'm crushed! Target is so much cooler. SuperKmart went out of business here anyway.

And the last thing we'd try to do is win a contest anyway. For me the challenge is getting a whole song! We'll have fun f--cking up. No doubt about that. We'll do what we can...

Thanks,
Kirstin

:) Just playing, Walmartgirl.

Sorry, I actually have time for laughter today I guess. It's kinda nice.

Hevy D and I are making tracks. It hasn't been the smoothest sail on the sea, but we're making it happen.

I'm following Khompewtur's lead and chronicling our progress on a web page. There's some pretty boring dialogue as I'm not editing our email correspondence, but there's good stuff here as we poke and prod to sort of get an idea what the other guy's all about. :D

This thing is already turning into quite a learning experience, I'm glad I decided to play.

HevyD and rats collaborate for HRChallenge 4

I read through about 100 lines of that, Rats. Thanks for sharing. I hope to see some others too because I know it's going to be SOOOOO different for everyone, and interesting to see how "strangers" make music together. Good luck, Rats.

Sluice...
It's okay. You can laugh at my expense. God knows I've done that to plenty of people in my day! Sorry to you all...

But, come on, how about Saks girl, or somethin'? Or Tiffany's girl--they don't sound quite as catchy as Wal and Kmart, but a girl's gotta have her image you know...

No hair tips for you dude!:p

We have some instruments to figure out how to play. Actually, we have to come up with a song first. Hee hee...

Whoa

rats is fast..................
My emails are about to get real boring:)
