Dude, when you KNOW what you NEED to in life, (career wise) theres not much else that will satisfy you. Sure you can go work at *insert company name* and possibly make a lot of money, but if youre miserable all day and hate the thought of going into work everyday, whats the point?
Instead of doing research on "normal" careers, how about you do some research on what you said you really wanna do -- music.
I just went through this myself.... the whole "trying to figure out what kind of normal job i could settle with" deal. Tried to figure out what i should major in. I did the college thing for 2 years, but it just wasnt "hitting home" with me. I dont love to write papers and give speeches -- i love music.
So I'm going to full sail sometime early next year (after the FAFSA goes through) for recording arts & entertainment business. I know full sail isnt really the crowd favorite on this site, but its just something i gotta do. if i have to survive on bread and water the next 6 years, so be it. Whatever it takes for me to be able to do what i love doing.
Just something to think about... Im not saying that you should do the same as me, but at least think about what you truely want to do and go from there. Dont settle for something just because its "normal" and pays well.
...And if its the money part youre worried about, I mean, who makes more... your average computer guy, or timbaland?
