One Hit Wonder

SONAR.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

The information might be LOST!!!! Of course it's lost, you puke breath, bastard, donkey shit pile of software.

Tell us how you really feel... :)

I usually save whatever it is I'm working on after every take, or an application of an effect or whatever it might be.

CRTL-S
ALT-F then S

your friends. use them often and frequently in ALL software were you are doing work. So far I have seen this message in several hundred pieces of software and the results all are the same. nothing is worse than spending hours tweaking only to get this message and realize you haven't saved your work in the last couple of hours... and autosave is annoying (for me) but some people find it useful plus it creates a backup file.

after a while, CRTL-S is automatic for your fingers: edit, listen, CRTL-S, edit, listen, CTRL-S...

one saving grace - if the file is not corrupted, at least you've only lost the work since the previous save

Happens to me loads of times. :o

And no clue why - but usually repeatable. :(

it makes one wonder if there are unknown forces at work behind the veil. And you can`t get even with it either, it does not care how you feel about it.

if it makes you feel any better, I use some $20,000 software at work and when it ain't happy it doesn't even appologize for it it just goes *poof* and closes.

I feel your pain ;)

They could at least give it some dialouge.

HAL: "Mike, it appears something has gone tits up and I`m going to close your job now. I'm certainly sorry for your loss. Perhaps we can reconstruct it at a later time."

MIKE: "Don`t close it, or at least save what you have at this point."

HAL: "Mikey, Mikey, Mikey.... if I did that our relationship would be so... so give and take, ya know. You must always realize that I am ultimately in total control."

LMAO. :D

Actually it would probably be more like this:

HAL: Mike, we both know your music sucks. You haven't recorded anything worth saving in quite some time. So let's not kid ourselves here. I mean, really, how important could it have been. Muwahahahahaha.

This same message in Melodyne (from Germany) is actually pretty funny.

"Melodyne need to be quit now."

I've gotten this message after changing patches multiple times in Kompakt.
