For an update, I think I am running close to $3,300+ now.

noob! :D

its an expensive addiction. at times i wish i had just taken up cocaine instead. slowly, the number will climb climb climb. i can see it now; my social security check going entirely towards the newest gear, and everything i have now, sitting in a crappy box in the attic!

over 100K counting our build out.. in a 3000sq ft wharehouse.

But of course more went out then what comes in.

Sorry had to edit..I typed 300 when it should have been 3000sq ft.

im up near $15k now.

it should chill around there for some time now, because if i doesnt, then im going to be a bad situation. i need to reach my financial saving goals.. buying a car next year...
the good thing is, once i have the ability to go!, i could DJ or something, i have all the equiptment already so i might as well make some money back on it.

my next big purchase CANT be until around next may, but its gonna be nice. i can feel it...

Total around 8-10k... don't wanna add it up now it just depresses me :D

I've spent close to 3,000 on recording gear. If we include instruments it would be around 7,000....

so far i have spent roughly about £700 to £1100 GBP on reel to reel tape recorders + tapes and reels (3" - 4" - 5" - 5 3/4" - 7" and 10.5"), splicing tape, and leader tape (red - green).

so just the essential stuff for my hobby :D

I love working with reel to reel tape recorders. :D

been doing it for 8 years and will never give it up :D

Keith

P.S my tape library now exeeds 100 tape reels of all different sizes :D

oh yeah
The list of equipment i use :D

1 X Fostex Model 80 Reel to Reel tape recorder £120.00 GBP)
1 X Revox PR99 MK III (£132.00 GBP)
2 X Tandberg Series 15 (around £40.00 GBP each)
1 X 4 channel amplifier Aiwa AN-7500 (modified to output to 500w RMS (125w per channel). (£895.00 GBP) (This amplifier is a tuner amp and it came with a Direct drive record player which sits under my bed at the moment until i can find a place to put it. It did come with a cassette deck but as i dont use cassettes at all, i sold it.

Late at night i got to turn down the bass on the amp because the bass in this amplifier is VERY powerful and if i turn it up it vibrates through the walls AND the floor.

I have always played the piano but I'm new at all this audio recording stuff, I have recently bought a:

Nuendo 3 for 1999 USD
2500 USD in plug-ins and Virtual Instruments
E-MU 1820M for 450 USD
Yamaha P-250 2500 USD (Its a lot more expensive to buy equipment here in Mexico and our salaries are about 3 times lower ... :( that doesn't make sense)
A sE2200a Mic 250 USD (Works Great!)
2 Shure sm57 75 USD each
A Dell Precision 650 workstation for 4900 USD which I bought 3 years ago and still works GREAT, Im planning too buy a new one and leave this one only for audio in general.

that sums a total of 12674 USD in equipment... thats not a lot of equipment for that kind of money... but i dont regret it, every piece of equipment and software I have bought has paid itself several times by now. Its a good investment.

I'd rather nail my dick to a burning building.

I would estimate hopefully a little under 5K for actual studio equipment and acoustics. And probably a little over 17K for guitars, mandos, piano, KB and saxs.

Topped $5,000 now, two months ago I was at $3,000~, oops, moving a little fast need to slow down. But then I have this pefect 1u half rack space waiting to be filled and the RNP is a' calling...

I just hit around 17 grand with the construction of my studio. I as allways have even more to purchase but I'm to the point where I'm happy with my setup.

I'm in the $0-500 range (as long as we don't count instruments, cuz that adds a couple thousand :P). This includes a 12-channel mixer (Sansui), M-Audio 1010LT (10-channel sound card, I think, I don't have it at school), 7 mics (Nady), mic stands, and all the cables. I think that's everything. Maybe it's not the best quality stuff, but I've gotten good recordings from it, and so far I haven't done any paid work, so it seems like a good price.

i've moved up here again.

around 16k or so. i dont even know, i've lost count..

come january, new comp time! i hope anyway... really want a MacPro or even a G5 dual.. i have an imac g5 now..
