How much is the Studio Projects B1 at your guitar center?

Yo Canibus! You are right in this case. Vocals are generally recorded in mono. and of course it comes out of both speakers, assuming it is panned to center.
What was suggested is also right. Don't become a rap producer. Become a *recording engineer*. Any mic or any recording channel worth owning is worth owning 2 of. There are a hell of a lot of sounds in the world worth recording other than rap vocals. And don't get sucked in by the concept of "stereo tracks" and "mono tracks". Stereo recording is a way to create a model of what you would have heard when something was recorded if you had been there to hear it. It uses 2 mics, and 2 channels to create that model, because you have 2 ears. Stereo recording is not an electronic option, it is a way to record something using 2 mics. Because the B-1 is fairly neutral, as cheap mics go, it is a fairly good choice for entry level stereo recording. Who knows? You could start a revolutionary wave of the future. Here's a concept- instead of using bogus electronically created "beats", or stealing samples of real music, you could get some people to stretch goatskins over wood or metal frames and smack them with their hands or sticks! Why not call them...drums? Try stereo recording that.-Richie

These are strange answers to the original question. My daughter works at GC. I just now called her and she put me thru to the pro audio dept and they have that SP mic for $99.00. Go figure.

I asked about a SP mic about 3 weeks ago and the guy said "We don't carry Studio Projects." It must vary from store to store. Or they can order it maybe?

Word - what Richie said.

I got a good deal

Humbucker music was selling them for $100 with shockmount, cable, and free shipping and I jumped on that. that was a few weeks ago. I'm still waiting for my pre to come in the mail though so I haven't even used it :(

True, GC special orders them for anyone who wants them, but they do not stock them. New B1 now has two pads and two filters and comes with shockmount.

SP mics are special order, if a GC had one in stock, it was probab;ly na order that was never picked up so They just stuck it out in the case.

It happens alot, guy orders something, puts money down, then gets arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to sell (not marajuana, thats only a ticketable offence here) and cant pick up his microphone (lol) either that or his wife finds out and he is castrated for spending money on "a useless toy" and can no longer complete payment of the sale. option 2 is more likely, but I have seen option 1 happen.

Man I love this guy. He own's Studio Projects, Joe Meek, and something else I thought, and he still has time to come on here and set the record straight. BTW Alan the 3q is rocking ass in my studio. It slaughtered my Eureka. Great little box, great products all around.

For the record, I am the illest. No question, hands down, iller than an eel.

I was quite ill a couple weeks ago, but I am fine now. By "fine," I mean "normal," which in my case, means kinda crappy.
