Hello, I am interested in buying an inexpensive multi-track recording studio and I was just wondering how many tracks version 1.3.3 has.

If anyone knows, please let me know.

n-track, aka x-track, aka unlimited-tracks.

if you have a great computer, then you can have a hell of a lot of tracks.

Hey - I can only get m tracks with my setup, but my PC is kind of slow (P3 450).
Oh well :(

Do you have a dedicated drive for your audio tracks? Have you done all the audio tweaks in the articles at www.tascam.com and/or www.prorec.com ???

(I have a PII-450 - a Gateway G6 and have gotten over 30 tracks of 16-bit audio or 16 tracks of 24-bit audio)

N-Track is really great on a less-than-gigahertz PC if you have a dedicated audio drive and tweak it.

v1.3.3???? Spend the money and get the current 3.05 version... it's worth it.

That was kind of joke (M vs. N!), I can get around 8 tracks with my 450 (Windows 2000, 256M RAM). I usually just do folky stuff, so I never need more than that anyway.

Actually I think 1.x was pre n-Track *Studio*, and might be limited in tracks.

You can't buy 1.x anymore...you didn't "find" a copy did you?

If you're still at 16bit, n-track is only what, $40? Current versions of n-Track will do unlimited tracks...you're only limitation is your hardware setup.

Slack,

You may already know this, but version 1.3 can still be downloaded from FASOFT.

I think there was once version 1.3-something free on an issue of Computer Music magazine's CD......

Yes, that's correct, Gidge, and thats where I discovered ntrack. I think it's come a long way since that version and I've had very few probs in any version since I first started using it. Now on 3.1.0.
Was using Cubase 3.7 before, but it drove me mad with all it's non-intuitiveness(!!).

Yes, but can it be registered?

Don't believe so. I think it's up there only to support registered version one users who never upgraded.
