I have four HP Pavilions, each with built-in IDE CDRWs,...

either the 7100 series [2x] or 7200 series [4x]. They all work fine, and I've never had undue problems with any of them,...

except once I bought cheap "Durabilt" - Walmart brand colored CDRs, 25 pack of 5 colors,... and my machine rejected 4 out of 5 colored discs. Ha, discount media, a real deal,... joke's on me.;)

PS, maybe no secret, but I've burned at least 500 discs in my recent memory,... and probably more if I look back further. HP is reliable stuff, and the HP brand is based on high quality and dependability,... in general,... and in most cases overall performs very well.;)

I have 3 different Plextors in 3 different computers, 2 of them I bought used... I've never replaced any of them!

One of mine (HP) was going for a record life until I got pissed off and pulled the fuckin' drawer out and stripped the gears.. That cost me..

Geez. I didn't realise burners could burn out (no pun intended) so quickly. I'm on my first (the one build into my VS-2480) - and I haven't even used it yet. Still, I don't plan on using it *that* often - so I can expect it to hold out for quite a while, right?

On my third Year...

Using a 16x Yamaha CDRW...
Works like a charm...
