Thanks for all the good posts on my earlier thread...."Laptop...good or bad idea." I purchased SpundPallet for $20 and installed it on my Dell Laptop. I have a wireless hook-up to my office CPU. SoundPallet is an audio search engine. With the freedom to be on the other side of the house connected to the Net and SoundPallet....thus I have a cord connected to the earphone jack on the Laptop...the other end RCA connectors....those connected to the RCA input...on front of my Yamaha Stero Powered Mixer...then going to my cd-track burner. Anyhow, this is helping me to build the "environment" that will eventually support the song I am producing. The audio quality seems good. I wish I had two huge vu meter to help adjust my final record levels. As far as those tiny light-dots...I guess I need to get used to reading them. This is a "crude" setup but I am having a lot of fun and I like the results I am hearing. Later...Cf

Sounds like you have it all figured out! As long as the sound card sounds good you should get a pretty good result. I have been recording for a long time now using an Ensoniq Audio PCI card. it's just a normal $29.99 sound card that I got a Best Buy a long time ago and to be honest, it sounds pretty good. I know it can sound better, that's why I'm about to drop some mad $$$ on my real studio, but for now it works just fine. Post something up on the clinic once you get it done!
