I am looking for a pair of FLAT responce monitors. So far, the Behringer Truths have cought my eye but no one knows how they sound. Dose any one have any advice? Flat responce and clarity is very very important.

I really like my KRK RoKits. I don't know how they stack up against the Behringers, but you might want to listen to a set, if you haven't already.

I haven't heared the KRK's. How do they compare to Point 7's? Also are the Point 7's realy more true than Monitor One's? OK Ok
Bottom line. What monitors would you suggest for synth-based technoish music with real guitars and vocals. Detail is very important.
I don't want to mix out the bottom end or the high's. NO ONE IN MY TOWN CAN GIVE ME A STRAIT ANSWER! HELP! please

The straightest data you're going to get is:

Whatever monitor system you choose to mix on, you have to understand how to relate the sound you can expect to get from a variety of systems to the sound on the monitors. Like any other reference system used in other more "scientific" pursuits, it needs to be calibrated. The calibration of reference monitors oocurs in the brain of the user.

I just got a pair of Event 20/20P's and I can't figure out the low end... On some recordings its there... sometimes it's not... I guess they have a very tricky curve in the low end range... The highs are also flakey to my ears... But then again I am deaf...
They do sound great with a little bit of EQ but I am damned if I do that... Damned...
I bet they are a great deal for the $$$...

You're best bet is go somewhere that has a bunch of these set up for side by side comparison. Personally, I didn't like the Alesis monitors as well as the KRKs, but you may like them more than I did. I know that some people use the Point Sevens because of their magnetic shielding, handy when you've got them sitting by your computer monitor.
If you do go down to compare, I'd suggest taking your own music to try them out on. You'll have a much better idea of what that should sound like than whatever they have laying around the store.
Also keep in mind that the models we're talking about are passive, you'll need a decent amp to go with them.

I currently use the Event 20/20's biamp series. They sound nice but a bit boxy.
I have a pair of JBL 4410's next to them and
they sound "sweeter". Keep in mind the JBL's are 3way and the Events are 2way.
However, I do really like the Event monitors. Before I purchased them I compared them to monitor ones and point sevens, peavey studio monitors and audix (2 different series)- all 2way monitors, I thought the Events sounded much better then all the above. I heard the 4408 JBL's sound real good but I have never got to hear them in a comparison. I realy like the "powered Biamp" monitors, saves rack space and eliminates the powered cable run. Depending on your requirements the "powered" stuff may be your ticket!

I think I'm starting to lean to the Event monitors but does anyone out there wright technoish music(ie. industrial music) and mix on a pair of Events. How do your mixes turn out?

by the way thanks for all the responces :)

Oh, yah! I finaly found out about the KRK's and I don't know what they usually go for but the lowest price I found was $1300!! WOW!
Ouch!
