I would never suggest that someone use a crack. They usually contain malware that will cause a lot more trouble than they would save in time and money. The only problem I have with the eLicenser is that it didn't go away when I uninstalled Cubase. I'm a programmer and detest half-assed code. That horrible installer should have been much more refined for such an expensive program.

Not to be a nitty, but the eLicenser program is completely separate from the Cubase program. It has it's own uninstaller. A pain in the ass, granted, needing to deal with two separate programs and their updates just to run one. But that is the way the company wishes to present their wares. I myself do not have an issue with it, but can definitely see how annoying it could be to others. Otay!! :D

That's what I mean. The installation process was actually a bunch of loosely related processes that were sloppily cobbled together in apparently random order, as if they didn't care whether the user perceived it as a sign of poor quality. Maybe most users didn't notice it or care, but programmers do notice these things. It's our job to notice them.

I don't have enough USB ports to play with Steinberg.

It loads the license in the same way Ilok does. Cubase won't work without it. Lose the dongle=buy Cubase again. Cubase program itself is free. You purchase the license to make it work. It is stored on your dongle and cannot be replaced. Well, you could take out an insurance policy on it I suppose.:cursing:
