hook up mixer

How do I connect my mixer?
I have a m-audio mobile pre, and a vmx 100.
Im not sure how the in and outs go. and how many cables i need?

do you mean, your mixer to computer or pre to mixer?

the mixer to pc I guess. What would be the right route? the pre is already hooked up. I wanted to use the mixer for eq. I dont know what goes in and what goes out. I think the path should be pre out to mixer then mixer in to pre or pc?
