Cool.:)

Matt, (my son) and I were talking about it last night, and he is keen to contribute and feels that the others in the band will all be cool.

As he said to me, I have learnt so much from HR that it isn't funny, and it would be good to "give something back" somehow. I started playing guitar as a kid in '62 and by the mid 60's had a dream to be able to record..............unfortunately, I didn't know where to start and gradually that dream faded...............HR.com has helped me eventually realise that dream, albeit some 35 years late.

Hi - newbie here (just look at all those posts). Unless I live here and plug in my 2 cents on every thread from today on, I probably won't qualify for the CD - no prob.

I did want to make a suggestion. Could there be a second version of the CD that contains MP3 files - say at 192 bit instead of 128 for higher fidelity - you could fit maybe around 100 songs give or take. The official CD is a pure audio CD - but this "Part B" could open it up to many more folks...

(OK - don't flame the newbie....)

Fred :)

Welcome to the board Fred. Not a bad idea but the only real reason to purchase a cd is to get the songs in cda format for the highest fidelity. otherwise you can just download everyone's files from nowhere and also it's already open for everyone to put their songs out by posting Mp3s. No need to put them on cd.....just stick them up on Nowhere and there they are. ;)

Lt Bob - glad you like O-town...I was born here. Actually work at the hospital where I was born. (It was a difficult delivery, but we almost have the bill paid off.)

When I read your post, I was a bit taken aback by your suggestion that I post my songs "nowhere"....but I did some sleuthing and found Nowhere Radio. Duh!

Soooo...I registered and posted a song - want to hear it? (It's a brief easy listening instrumental): http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=1659&alid=-1

(Better yet - check out my daughter's music at www.karalanger.com!)

And...my wife and I love Nawlins - especially the food!

Nice stuff Fred..............I like it. You should go post it at the Mp3 clinic forum. But be prepared for direct specific comments as to the mix and recording. I didn't hear your daughter's tunes 'cause I have yet to register for Mp3.com but i'll get aroung to it.
Since you have a daughter that plays.....you might find it interesting that I'm playing in a band with my dughter. I'm 50 and everyone else in the band is 20ish. We're doing No doubt, Weezer, pink............stuff like that. I look forward to hearing more of your stuff and once again, welcome. You'll find this to be a truly great site with information and help galore and some wild characters. I've learned a ton and have struck up friendships and musical collaborations. First and last thing I do everyday is check out the site. See you around. ;)

Hey Slack,
Good game plan. I'm a 3 time veteran of a website compilation CD. Over at www.recordingwebsite.com we're just releasing our 9th compilation CD in about 5 years. One of the things that make those unique, is that each release has a theme. For example, SubT I was digital vs. analog. Sub T III was all acoustic. SubT V was all live recordings... not necessarily gigs, but no editing or over-dubs. Sub T VI was a huge challenge... we all voted on 1 set of lyrics and then everybody came up with their own music. There was some creative license given with the lyrics in order for people to fit their music to the words. The latest Sub T IX is a Beatles Tribute. We've also done 3 Christmas CD's. Anywho, glad to be on board with this one and it looks like you've found solutions to most of the common problems involved in this type of eneavor.

Oh, probably less than 150 units. Depends really.

JR#97, I missed your reply initially. Good to have you on board!
