Sold Out? Whaaa?
Volume One is technically sold out. However, I have a few copies that I'm saving in case any get lost in the mail. You will have to watch this forum if you want one, because that's where I'm going to announce the remaining sale, and it's first-come-first-serve. Don't email me about them!
Q: What is HomeRecording.Comp Volume 1?
A: A few years ago a group of us HomeRec'ers got together and decided it would be pretty cool to start a compilation CD project. Well, just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong, but three years later HomeRecording.Comp Volume 1 is finally finished!
Q: How many songs are there?
A: 20 songs on 2 CD's.
Q: Who is on the comp cd?
A: Brad, S8-N, Jal, sonusman, ametth, Emeric, Recording Engineer, drstawl, 37point5, dmcsilva, gibs, jitteringjim, bobbo, Slackmaster2K, David, Jon X, rj, CMiller, Layth, houdini
Q: Does it sound pretty good?
Yes and no. This compilation was not mastered. Tracks are exactly as they were submitted. Some tracks, like mine, really suck hard! Other tracks, like Brad's infamous Wigga G.O.M.M. are absolutely killer! You shouldn't look at this compilation in terms of how many songs you'll like. You should look at it in terms of being an active, supporting member of this community...if that's how you think, you'll enjoy it for sure. Otherwise, don't buy, there aren't many left anyhow.
Q: How much does it cost? What are your payment methods?
A: $20 + shipping and handling, USD Money Orders only.
Q: Why don't you take Paypal/Personal Checks/Cash/etc?
A: Update, you might try using PayingFast, at www.payingfast.com . I believe that you can purchase real money orders there. Just make sure that the money order comes to me with the necessary information!!!!
The reason I won't use Paypal is that I will not get these funds mixed up with my personal account. Money orders are best because it's basically like dealing with guaranteed cash. Plus, you are insured if it is lost, and have proof of purchase! Really this is the easiest way for me to do it...imagine how hard it is for you to get a money order, then imagine how hard it is for me to have to single-handedly deal with every aspect of this project!
Q: Who profits from this?
A: Profits will be donated in full to the HomeRecording.Com BBS.
Q: How much will shipping be? How do you ship?
A: Usually $2 inside the US and up to $6 outside the US. It really depends on where you are. I ship only USPS First Class or Airmail because it's the cheapest.
Q: Hey I just read your ordering instructions but you didn't post your address to send money to!
A: You didn't read the ordering instructions. I'm not going to post my address on a public forum. How it works is this: you send me an email with all the necessary information, I determine your shipping cost, and THEN send you actual payment instructions (e.g. my address).
Q: What's with needing all this redundant info? Do you really need my phone number? etc
A: Today I got a money order with none of the required information. I couldn't make out the signature very well, and had to search my database by address and luckily the person's shipping address was the same address on the envelope. That's a pain in the buns for me. Just send the redundant info with your payment!
I will only call you if there is something very wrong and I can't track you down any other way.
Q: I don't know when I'll be able to send you the money until you tell me where to send it! Why do you ask this!!!
A: What I'm looking for is a date by which I should have definately received your money. If this date passes and I don't have your money, I'm going to contact you to see what's up. Since there are a limited number of these things, I have to make sure that people follow through. That's all that date is for. Give yourself a couple weeks if you need it!
Q: How does this CD look? Is it homeade? CDR?
A: The CD's are CDR, yes, but they were professionaly duped and printed. The jackets and tray liners were all HAND MADE by myself, but they look pretty good...this is homerecording afterall.

Q: Anything special about this volume?
A: Yes, these are enhanced CD's with multimedia content (and a couple hidden treats!). They are also individually numbered! Only 75 sets were made!
Q: Will the enhanced content work on any platform?
A: Originally that was the plan, but no, the enhanced content will only be availble to those on PC's running Internet Explorer 5+.
Q: Well why should I buy one when..... Isn't 20 bucks expensive for.... etc etc
A: Then don't buy one. This is not mandatory!
Q: How many of these things are left?
A: Only 25 left as of 6/28/02...although only about 30 have officially shipped so that 25 number might increase if people bail out on their orders.
Q: How long will it take to get my CD?
A: Usually I send out within a week of receiving your order. Check the Shipping Info thread at the top of this forum to see if yours has shipped.
Q: Will there be more of these Compilation CD projects?
A: Yes, expect a submission deadline sometime this summer or fall for HomeRecording.Comp Volume II. There is a post at the top of this forum that is dedicated to this subject.
