Home Recording Using Audition / Dazzle

Hi All,

Since I am a novice in the digital recording arena, I have a question regarding signal recognition into my PC - using Audition 1.5 and the Dazzle interface.

Throughout my playing days, I have always recorded using analog equipment (I still have a Tascam 488). However, I recently started experimenting with using Audition 1.5 on my PC. The only way I was able for Audition to receive sound waves (drum machine, guitars, etc) was through the line in (microphone looking input). I spoke to a rep at Best Buy and they recommended I purchase this device called Dazzle (it has 2 RCA in's, an S-Video in, and another "yellow" video in). The idea was to run into Dazzle as in interface, then the out USB from Dazzle into my PC. I have yet to generate any sound using this method. In Audition, I checked the device settings as noted in the manual and the only device detected was my PC's sound card. There doesn't seem to be a way to detect the Dazzle interface.

Equipment wise, I am using the Alesis SR-16 drum machine. I also have an ADA MP2 for guitar tracks. So I could probably use the MIDI outs (somehow, but as noted, I am a novice and could use some advice).

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Need to get a compatible sound card.

You can spend anywhere for 80 to 200 dollars depending on your needs.

Good luck in the digital land.(I just jumpped in about a year ago ansd it;s great!)
I also used the 488 but with a good software program(like this one which is free to try)(http://reaper.fm/download.php )you have unlimited tracks.
