Hi guys, as you already know I'm a total beginner/noob or however you want to call me at home recording. I'm a guitar player myself but not a sound engineer so I have no clues on how to run/connect different devices together.

As I was told I should record from my amp using a microphone--->preamp---->soundcard---->computer(PC-Windows)

All I want to know is how to CONNECT these devices below together and what specific cables I need for specific devices and stuff.
What I have already:
* Microphone SHURE SM57
* M-Audio Audio Buddy 2-Channel Preamp
* Audiophile 2496 as soundcard

My english is not good and I do apologize for that.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you a lot for reading this post.

Get 1/4 to rca cable something like this lg_A__PR.webp
connect the big jacks into the outputs on your audio buddy, and connect the small jacks into the inputs on your 2496, after that buy xlr cable something like thisscaleKM1FMMS_2.webp and connect it with your microphone and one of the xlr inputs on the audio buddy.

Thank you a lot for your reply with provided images, which one of these devices is used to connect to the PC-Computer to start recording?! Sorry but I'm new to this and have 0 experiences.

I know that Audiophile 2496 is PCI and it's only for PC. Can anyone suggest a similar soundcard with USB connector so I can use it for my laptop. Thank you.
