Well, I have one picked out and I'm waiting on the blessing of the owner before I start mangling it.

Well , I have the owners permission so I will begin dismemberment this weekend.

The arrangeemnt def. suits your voice Gekk.
A VERY summery/island - what's that sound at 2.07 - a wolf tone?
Really nice track - & a great way to pull something out fo obscurity for a chance at a new life.

Greg,
A good run at RAMI style harmonies. Your version actually accentuates the Beatlesque nature of the song.
The guitar and bass solos could've be a bit louder.
It's an excellent RAMI tune & a terrific remake - much better than a Hollywood remake too!

C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon I feel like singing send in the clowns (except I can't sing...)

M...O...R...E...please!

Thanks Ray. Yeah I got a whole new mix for it, I just haven't posted it. I've been fighting this other song I'm working on.

This probably doesn't count because this was done years ago...but, I thought I'd post it anyways...

This is a tune written by Mark Buster and Chris Harris.....recorded live at Murphy's Law in South Boston.
The Band is "City Point"...
Recorded by Jonathon Gourd using a field recorder and a stereo mic about ten feet away at ear level.

That's a pretty solid bootleg. Your vocalist sounds almost exactly like Beth Kinderman.

Ok, here's mine. Manslick kindly gave me permission to take on his recent Mommy Said Song. Original here for anyone interested who doesn't remember it.

Took a while to get round to finishing after coming down with a cold that seemed to hang around forever, but it was a lot of fun to do. It's a fairly loose take on the original. Hope youse like:

You're as crazy as I am, and I mean that in the kindest way.

Nice job Rob. I like it.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to robgreen again.

I'm glad you like man. I enjoyed your original and because the basic structure was so simple, it was a good candidate for toying about with (that and the fact I can't play anything particularly complicated) :D

Ha! Well done. I enjoyed your original version of this manslick, but this was really nice too. Rob took the basic idea for this and made it sound like Rob...cool.

robgreen - sounds like Tom York getting into manslick territory. maybe you ought to have taken it a bit further into Creep territory.
Good stuff.

Heh heh, thanks for listening and for the comments all - this was great fun to do. Good idea

Very good. :D

Last Joke of Summer - Rob Green cover

Hey - way late to the party here. I was tempted to start a new thread with this one, but decided to dig this one up.

I just got around to doing a cover of our very own robgreen's Last Joke of Summer. I hope at least he sees this and gets a kick out of it. I think it is a great tune and I tried to do it justice. Now that I play it back it sounds maybe overly bright and/or shrill...his version is pretty dark. I also think background vocals here & there might help...?

Here is my version:

Here is the original:

Pete - thanks so much man, I absolutely love it. I saw in the drum test thread that you were finding it deceptively simple, but challenging - you and me both. I've been through 3 iterations of it and still don't think I've nailed it properly yet.

Your version definitely brings something new to the party - you've given the tune a bit of a groove and it's both strange and exciting to hear your own melody/words sung back at you by someone else. What's the effect on the lead guitar line by the way? Is it some kind of wah?

Really stoked by this. Thanks for taking the time and effort :D :D

EDIT: Any chance you could make the file downloadable, so that I could get a copy for myself by the way? Cheers

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to heatmiser again.

The song has this deep "Pink Floyd - San Tropez" feel with the lazy beat and hollow haunting electric guitar sound. Heat does great at keeping that vibe going and stays true to the original. I like the brighter approach, it is really what the song needed. Doesn't sound shrill at all, a really good balance.

Always a fan of Heat and now a fan of Rob. ")
