home depot resilient channels

Are the resilient channels sold at my local home depot the same as the ones sold by acoustical companies like Auralex? They certainly look the same compared to the pictures on the Auralex website.

If different are they good enough? Has anyone used them?

More than likely they are. Home Depot occasionally carries them. If it's RC-1 that's the stuff you want. One side gets screwed to your studs and the other side floats off with your gyp board attached to it.

Make absolutely sure it's really resilient channel. My local Home Depot thought they had it but it was just what I believe is called "hat" channel. It should have RC1 stamped into it and have lots of little dimples in it to make it easier to screw into.
