i record mainly hip-hop vocals..and dont make my own beats

currently im using cool edit 2.1, but i think its time to upgrade..im getting kinda sick of cool edit, do to its bugs and limitation

what do u guys think i should go with....? im willing to learn a whole new product. Iv heard good things about Nuendo, cakewalk, cubase ect...

what do u guys think?

I use Sonar Cakewalk Homestudio 4XL and I love it. I upgraded from 2XL which was pretty cool too. Cakewalk is pretty much all I know, so /shrug
It's easy to use, pretty easy to understand and I haven't encountered any bugs after about 6 months of use.

There's no single right answer. All of the name audio editors (Cubase, Sonar, ProTools, etc.) will do what you want and more. Since you're not making beats and only tracking vocals, an entry-level audio editor should do. You probably don't need to drop $700 on Cubase SX3, when SE3 would be more than powerful enough at $150.

You might also want to save a buck and check out Reaper which is presently open-source and seems to be getting some good buzz: http://www.cockos.com/reaper/

although i am not making beats..i do a lot of vocal editing/effects so i do use a lot of plugins ect. so i was sorta lookin for something powerfull that gives me a lot of options..plus i wanna learn new software for the sake of knowladge....incase of futur intrests

Maybe Check out "Mackie Traction v2.0" it is only about $150 and it is very Powerfull and is Compatible with most all VST and DX Plugins and Supports something like 32 audio Tracks and 256 Midi Tracks and will work with most any Sound Card or audio Interface....

I like it because the Interface is sort of Set up Like a Analogue Recording set up which I find easier to understand and it comes with lots of Plugins and Filters.....

It is Probably the Most Powerfull Recording software in it"s Price Range.....

Cheers
