What's up guys! So I'm buying a TLM 102 to record a free album I've been working on for about near two years now(sad to say). I've recorded on the TLM102 few times before and I absolutely love the sound that came from it. I'm not a professional engineer or microphone specialist by any means but when I listen to the music I recorded on the TLM102 I sometimes have a hard time believing it's me lol. I have two really good friends who engineer. Friend A is an aspiring engineer/producer/musician and friend B actually has a degree in music business/audio engineering. I'm not trying to bore anyone to death with a life story or TMI so here are my questions.

1. Friend B suggested I buy an m box and it would most likely come with pro tools LE. I'm not sure which M-Box it was, I just saw one in trade it and sent him a pic and he suggested it was a pretty good interface. How do you feel about using that M-Box with the TLM 102??? I don't have an arm and a leg to spend on extra equip but I really do admire that sound I get from the Neumann. To my understanding the interface is only meant to connect my mic to the computer, right?? I'm sure you a lot of you guys already know what I'm talking about, the blue box thingy. Once again I'm no pro so don't judge my wording haha. Any tips on a decent priced interface that wouldn't strip away the quality from the mic???

2. Secondly, I'm doing Hip Hop. I've recorded almost a full project in my living room with friend B. If you ask me, it doesn't sound bad but once again I'm no professional. Do you guys think it'd be really necessary to put up acoustic foam or aim for some type of treatment?? I've seen videos of iLoveMakonnen recording in a normal looking bedroom and J.Cole & Lil Wayne recording on their tour bus. Yes, I understand they can afford to pay an engineer a ton of money to make them sound better. However, there's also a ton of music on the radio nowadays that doesn't sound like too much went into making it sound as good as it does.
