Killing the snake would do it.

We need more information please.

Where is the hissing coming from?

What's plugged into the mixer?

What are the gain settings on the mixer?

Without this, diagnosis is difficult, prognosis is problematic.

most newbs that have hiss issues are experiencing gain stageing issues...
an over simplification to get you started... all equipment has a noise floor (the bottom) and a clipping point (the top) the thing you need to do is try to get everything to workk in it's own "sweetspot"... often this can mean turning say your mixers output up to get a hot output and then padding down the next stage at you r interface so as not to overload it... and that one adjustment may be all you need in this case... but dont be surprised if as you learn more about this you'll have to go back and go through it one stage at a time optimizing each...

...or the signal path is just really cheap and noisy. Remember that everything adds noise; the question is, how much noise will it add? Typically the cheaper stuff is very noisy...once you add three layers of that (mic, preamp and cable), you get a bunch of noise.

As a last resort, notch EQ and/or noise reduction filters could help a little.

Also try useing the Line in on your sound card and not the Mic input , the signal comeing out of your mixer is allready at line level so it should use the Line input...
