Hi Everyone .. I would like to introduce myself

I'm an outsider, as you all know, but just wanted to drop something in here.

You did ask for it, and you did get it. Feedback doesn't translate always to a 'pat-on-the-back'.

Granted not all of the comments were regarding recording, music, etc. that these forums are based on, but the majority were. However, from the posts, I don't see anyone disliking you in any shape or form, just disliking your association. I'm sure if you were to come back on another post without mentioning that name that everyone seems to cringe over, you'd get one heck of a better response. Which, I believe was mentioned on the first page of this thread.

It is true what they say about association, and from the few posts I have read from 'FT'... Well it's made me avoid listening to his music, so have no comments on that. Promotion is great, but when it's unwelcome, it's really unwelcome.

I'd be happy to critique your (emphasis on your) recording and/or music style, but cannot, and will not promise that such a critique will smell as sweet as roses.

Wow, this is the stupidest thread I have seen, but I must admit that it is fun.

I enjoy Lyndarainbow's rants the best: somebody who has no concept of the English Language just happens to stop by to praise Father-No Clue. I smell a rat here.

I tried to run lyndarainbow's post through the Dialectizer, but it came out the same way.
 
I found the song dull and performed in an amateurish way.

But, that's not the big deal here, the real story is, who is this Lana lady? AND, she must be a marketing genius to get this Father Time fellow so much publicity and mp3 downloads/plays.

Lana, will you be MY NMA agent?

Queue, that's what I thought - but an mp3.com song has to be listened to to gain revenue, right. When lana posted that link to FT's song, and people clicked on it and found themselves at his mp3.com page, did that have any effect on his ratings at mp3.com?

AFAIK, page hits get you nothing, except nice lines on a graph. I thought the whole "pay for play" thing was a good idea. "Pay for pay for play" I didn't like. But I never really promoted any of my own stuff. Mainly cuz it sucks, and I know it. :(

I NEVER ASKED FOR A PAT ON THE BACK ... I asked FOR HONEST opinions ...

They never said anything about disliking me .. hmm .. Well .. they may not have but they sure implied it ... I am a shill for FT after all ..

guilt by association is a friggin cop out ...I do not even think that is a fair statement ...

I asked for feedback .. only the first two posts on this thread were feedback ... the rest of them aside from OZlee and One d by Queue were attacks on FT ....

Well, the tune itself isn't bad but I hear a few problems. The lead guitar sounds out of tune, the distorted lead guitar is out of tune as well and the tone is a little strident for the feel of the tune. It sounds like the direct output off the back of an amp. Not enough of a creamy sound. And the drum machine..... )

.. are the only two people who gave HONEST reviews ...

the VERY next post to this thread was Bleu Bear Sound ... he gave a review .. a bad one .. but hey that is his opinion ... ( I personally think it was driven by his contempt for FT rather than his honest opinion .. but that is MY opinion )

That is all the review I got ... all the FEEDBACK I got ... from there on out .. it was nothing but personal attacks on FT .. who is BANNED FROM THIS BOARD .. and CANNOT EVEN REPLY TO WHAT YALLL ARE SAYING !!!!! I just checked out more FT songs. Such hits like " who is the fucking president".

Nice sound quality on the vocals. Who made that Mic, Fisher-Price or Snap-on-tools? I tried to listen to another one, Gimme-yada, but the sound quality was so poor that I couldnt possibly listen to more than three seconds without throwing up.

Yeah that is a very honest review there ... WOW ....

I think Ozlee is right ... I think all of you that are calling all of this need to go back to post number one of this thread .. and you need to read each post .. then come back and tell me your honest opinion of how this all went ... and stop hiding behind your associations ....

did I deserve this shit ??? NO ... and if you go and read all of this thread you will have to agree ... there is NO way you could see it otherwise ...

and in closing .. I think FT's track record on Mp3.com speaks for itself ... he Is one of the biggest acts there ... and you can say all you want to about him .. but you cannot change that ...

er, um - out of sheer curiosity I downloaded one of the FT songs - "Trying to find the time" - what a riot! this thing is so unbelievably bad! It has to be experienced to be believed! The song reminds me of "The Shaggs" (let's hear it for the Wiggins sisters, folks!). There's an interesting book by Irwin Chusid titled "Songs in the Key of Z" which deals with some of these "outsider-musicians". Making reasonably technically good recordings is no longer beyond the means of Joe Average, and so there is now the inevitable glut of this type of "entertainment" out there - some of it gets on to MTV (big hand here for the Marketing folks, please...), some of it ends up being written about in books, some of it ends up on mp3.com - what the hell is happening to our society?

BTW: I listened to a couple of Lana's songs and found them to be pretty mediocre to be honest. The songs are very mechanical, going on and on and on, without any stops or pauses for effect. The ideas aren't all that bad, but the whole thing needs arranging, that's all. Well, you did ask :>
 
I think we all have better things to do than create a three page FT thread. Maybe we could get this back to Lana's music.
 
Seems I still need to re-iterate...

I have mentioned a few times now that I gave my opinion honestly... I don't give a rats ass whether those songs were FTs, or whether they were written by Al DiMeola himself - they were plain bad, pure and simple.

Folks like Lynda Rowboat make me want to re-think my position on gun control! Scary!

I listened to FT's stuff. Out of time and tune. Over compressed? Lots of backgound noise. I'd have sat on it or re-recorded before hanging my name on it in public.
 
Well as per so many requests .. I spent 3 hours going through archives last night on this board

I searched out every name I could find that had to do with FT ...


went all the way back to early 2000 .....


and unless yall deleted some threads ..... I dont get it ...


I see alot of thread where he is being bashed .. but none that he was bashing ...

I looked specifically for spam thread where he supposedly spammed these board repeatedly as so many thread presumed ...


the only thread I saw where he posted links .. were threads for new songs he released ...

and one thread where he was promoting someone else .. and everyone on that thread was horrible to her ...

I only saw maybe two threads where he was angry and called names .. and that was with Shaky Tee ... and as I am to understand they were at odds .. which that are not now ..

honestly, I dont care really how you all feel about him .. if y ou hate someone .. you hate them .. that is not my call

and to Gidge who called me a nutcase ... well that may be so .. but I still feel I was unfairly treated on this board ...

and to whoever it was that said something about how I opened my thread...

yeah .. well I am new to the board .. I like that way it looks .. I wanted to compliment the owner ... in other words .. I was being NICE .....

I did not invite anything on my thread ... I was not looking for what I got ... I did not diss or talk down to anyone on this board with my words on my original post .. I was simple trying to introduce myself at a new place .. that I had never been before ...

I do not want to continue this anymore ... and I am not leaving the board ... when I posted that this was my last post on the other thread 2 times ... it was out of disgust for what I was seeing ...

then I talked to Ozlee .. (by the way) Very nice person .. and he or she made sense to me about it .. and they are right .. just because there are a few people on this board that feel they have to show their muscles and be mean .. I should not hold everyone responsible .. so I wont ....
