I knew there was something I really really..really really...really...liked about you...the whip crack during the 1st verse is a keeper though!![]()
Uh, yeah.....
I did this thing when I had no idea how to track, so a lot of rules were broken.
The guitars are DI'd through a Fostex MR-8, and the crappy efx onboard.
The drums are a yamaha keyboard... nuff said!
As far as the vocal, I eq'd the crap out of it because it was just a mic (and a really cheap one at that) plugged directly into the MR-8. Nothing I've done could fix it.
And to top it all off, I am mixing on my laptop with headphones because I am on a ship in the middle of the Pacific and away from all my gear... and that most of all has a lot to do with the mix.
I really need to get home....![]()
Glad you liked it.it's as farking rough as guts......but I farking LOVE it!!! Well done!...hahahaha!...off for another listen man!
Rock on you crazy bastuuuuuurd!![]()
Glad you liked it.
Yeah, it's rough, but I think at the time it was intended to be tlhat way. The only changes I made over the first mix is that I moved the guitar solo to the center of the song, and the sound bytes are different.
And I over processed it this time...
True, let me know if it's to your liking. If not, I will post the raw tracks as a PMC and see what the masters can do with it...
Thanks. I hope others feel the same way, especially the one it was intended for!nah man!...don't change it!!
THE SONG IS WHAT IT IS!......It's great in all aspects and is totally within context!!.....I like the feel/mood very much....and I understand that it was an 'intended' thang.....it's not pretentious at all.....rock-on!..![]()
Not until I get home and work with my monitors instead of headphones...That's one of the strangest things I've ever heard.
Yeah the drums were pretty cheesey, but otherwise the other instruments and vocals fit together quote nicely in a grungy, raw kind of way.
The sound clips were kind of ... weird. The felt like the stuck out a bit much. Would there be a way to blend them in with the music so that they sound a little more natural?
If it was, I missed!A good laugh!
There're some things you could do to polish it - but I don't know that it's necessary - it's funny & gets the humour across.
More subtle sound effects would be subtler - I don't think that's the point either.
It's not menat to be jazz after all (or was it?)
I have one Tony...the lyrics are clear in it...that is one reason I like it best....and of course..the intro on it is awesome with the cracking whip!!!...I'll have to post it on my soundclick page ...give me a few minutes...It's a funny tune-for sure, it reminds me of the days of my early garage bands-rough sounds and all. The solo definitely is garage sounding in a good way-do you or True have an earlier mix for comparison?
SHED Jazz!!!It's not menat to be jazz after all (or was it?)
Yah the dont rush me is funny!! And as I said, I think it is one of the best songs ever written...If it was, I missed!
I think the funniest side joke is in the second verse. "Don't rush me, big boy!"
But I still like it after 3 years. I think that's important.
