We still need a solo guitar for after the bridge. Check out the original, sax solo followed by guitar solo. Both are still missing. :(

Ok, I can try that solo. anybody got an mp3 of the original ?
Or is what I have on the karaoke file pretty close to it?

(see above link)
if its not, can someone put it on the ftp site?

I thought I had one but I think it went away when I reworked my puter.

Peace
Bill

Ok I posted an improvised lead fill which is all of 13 seconds long. It may not be what is needed but I think it may work.

Its up at the ftp site called lead fill bpom.

It starts at around 2:20 of the 5:49 mp3 and it is timed to the track with listed as with bass.

I hope thats the spot you wanted filled with a lead :)

I also tried doing some of that muted plucked guitar which plays throughout in the original but there is a guitar in the track and the timing was impossible over the other guitar track. I suck at timing anyway so I gave up on it. I dont have time to put all the pieces together to mix my own either right now.

If it does not go let me know

PS I found the original too... so I dont need one posted

Peace
Bill

moskus, I downloaded Bill's track from the FTP site. I see it's not gonna threaten to break any speed records. :D :D :D

Well, at least the price is right, I guess. :)

Yeah, I noticed too... It's rather strange though. When I uploaded the files (yeah, that was me ;)), I had around 50 kb/s... now it's more like 10.

Bill,

I'm down loading Lead Fill BPOM even as we speak...

Those two other BluesMeister files there are my muted guitar part plus a whole host of other rhythm parts, arpeggioed chords, fluffed and mis-timed changes. I sent them to Dachay some weeks ago.

I had a listen to the bare-naked rhythm parts that I sent (as in sans vox and keys). To be Frank, it sounded dreadful! But with other noises happening around, it sounds, erm, well just as bad really. :D

So, now it's the turn of the keyboard players to step up to the plate...

Clemie, wherefore art thou?

I've had a listen to the BPOM - The Story So Far and it sounds fine to me. Very nice bass playing from our very own talented, customer orineted Dutch Dyke Digitiser. :)

Nice scratch keys from Dachay too, I might add. Unless we get any input from Clemie, I move that we accept Dachay's keys.

My copy of the tune terminated rather abruptly just after the bridge passage. That's more likely to be a fault of my flaky dial-up connection rather than any judicial editing :)

Bill

Don't think you get away with it that easily! :D There's some additional guitar that comes in around 4:50 that you may want to have a try at. It sounds to me like an Eb Lydian played up around the 11th fret.

Your lead break sounded very close to my own interpretation too. What does that say about our guitar playing???

Dang, I thought there should be more than that :) Ill check it out and post some more.

WHAT DOes that say about about our guitar playing???

Hmmm, trying not to insult here but I have a very poor opinion of my playing, I think Im my own toughest critic. I feel like I am always playing the same thing and still flub up with timing and noise issues. I wish I had the creative talent that so many players seem to have which flows from their minds eye to their figertips it seems. BUT I dont! Though quite a few non players seem to think Im some kind of guitar whiz. Because I play a lot of styles I guess...Go figure.
I recorded some jam stuff with a guy from work who is a exceptional player and when we played it back several months later I could NOT tell which parts he did and which I did so there is something to say there but on not quite sure what it is. :)
If our styles are the same then perhaps we share a common thought process.
I have yet to get a guitar lesson and have had very little one on one playing experience so I am "really" self taught.
I play scales pretty correctly but without creative variation and feel I also lack the finesse of those true players. hey, maybe we could put something together one day kind of a Q & A type simple Jam thing. could be interesting.
:D :D

ended ubruptly

Bluesmiester:
Oh yeah Mine ended that way too @ 3:46 so its not your connection more likely the upload. guess thats why I MISSED THE later break :)

You Fool stop moving your lips when you type

yeah and sometimes you loose complete control of your jaw when your into playing.

OK... the file being only 3MB or so I think was my fault.. I'm now rectifing it... as I'm typing this, it's 56% uploaded averaging 5.45 KB/s so I should be up in about another 10 minutes or so.

Why can't I download / upload any files ? Last night, it started fast enough (about 30Kbps) but then drop to 2.3 Kbps and connection closed after hitting 312bytes ps. in about minutes... no files uploaded / downloaded... I've tried again this morning, but same result... :( I'll check my ISP in monday...

Bill, you must took a wrong beverage last night... that's Paul's :D

I uploaded another guitar mp3 its called

bpomleadguitarfills2wfaroni.mp3

its wound up in the root directory instead of the mp3 one:( I wasnt going to upload it again just because of that

its also here for those who want to download it form nowhere instead

http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=1644&alid=-1 "bpom lead fills"

Hey its not a cover! just a part! :D

it contains the first lead I uploaded as well so I deleted that file..that should make it a little less time consuming to download as well. this one has fills at about 2:50 and 4:50 mp3ed at 96 kbs

I hope it can be used .. probably need a mixing guru to whip it in shape :)

my high speed connection was only doing about 4 kbps but it worked

Bring on the horns

:D

I Just got a korg triton le but havent had time to use/learn it yet ,,, It does have some great horn sounds though

Peace

Don't be too hard on yourself Bill. Getting out of a musical rut is not an easy thing to do. Exploring different modes and scales can lead to some interesting ideas.

One day, Pedullist and I will collaborate on a piece I've composed that's little more than a melodic minor scale.

I feel like I am always playing the same thing and still flub up with timing and noise issues.
I try to steer my compositions away from the predictable, particularly in the Blues genre, of which I'm rather fond (bet you'd never guessed!) I find that switching between neck and bridge pickups, dialling down the tone and so on, avoids the "everything sounds the same" syndrome.

I have yet to get a guitar lesson and have had very little one on one playing experience so I am "really" self taught.
It's never too late to take lessons, Bill. I'm seriously thinking of taking them up again to lift my playing.

Maybe we could put something together one day kind of a Q & A type simple Jam thing. could be interesting.
OK, it's a deal Bill, your place or mine? In fact over the next few days let me rummage through my musical archives and see if I've got anything worthy of working on.

Yes, it's a deal Bill. I'll PM you with some details
