What sort of server is it? It is just file storage or can I transfer the Cakewalkers page over to it as well? I might be able to upload from the web page if that is the case :D If you want to shoot me some details.

I studied Accounting for a year out of school, decided I didn't like it. I could add number, however computers were more my field of expertise... in saying that I'm currently working for one of the Big 4 Global accounting firms at the moment in their IT Department :D

Exactly what guitar part do you need done, do you have tab or chords for it or is it a pick it outa the song thing?
You guys are having so much fun that maybe a deaf guy like me can join in and no one will notice LOL :D :) :D I'm not very good at cover/playing others but I can give it a shot. That is unless you've got someone already.

Jaymz, about that monitor... where is it located in relation to your pc and cabling. have you tried running a shield between the two? if its directly below something as simple as an aluminum foil lined blotter placed below it may do the trick or it may make it worse depending on the degree of leakage.

moskus, if there is no restriction on file size (or total capacity) we should probably upload all the tracks here. That way anyone who wants to take a crack a mixing can have access to all the tracks.

I'll throw up the files (I get free upload on my cable connection at home). It may not be tonight (it's 11am atm), but definately tomorrow night.

I'm also waiting to find out from moskus to see if we can host the cakewalkers project home page over there also.

Questions on what to record

What is the main objective here?

Question 1
Should I bother spending time doing a guitar part that does not emulate the original precisely but which I believe fits the song and catches the spirit and tone of the original? OR are trying to get as close to the original as possible? I just stink at picking out songs exactly right, even something simple like this! partly due to my poor hearing and partly due to relying on Tab far too much.

Question 2
Ive got a track I downloaded a few weeks ago,which is labeled "Bpom (scratch W vocal) 2003081 2" is that the one we are timing to?



Did anyone like the croaky version I posted at the bottom of my page at http://mysite.verizon.net/vzd1s1s7/ ? I thought it was an excellent job.

Dear oh dear, if you have listened to my drums sequencing, it's different with the original. Not only I tend to put fill in here and there, but the sound is also different. I kept the groove and the spirit of the beat, but in different way. One of the biggest mistake (IMHO) of musicians is lack of confident of what they do / got. We should be "proud" enough to say "It's my version of expression. I think it's good enough, I am satisfied and I believe I had done the best that I can with all I got". I always said to myself, that running SB Live! is not an excuse to make a good song. If you are sure of what you do, then do it your way... you are great being yourself :cool: At least, that's what I believe... :)

Yes, that's the scratch track. Please slide it around 12 ticks to the left to line up with the beat :)

Actually I would suggest using the "BPOM with Bass" track that is in the Yahoo briefcase. That one has both James' drums and Pedullist's bass on it.

I also think it won't require any "sliding," but leave the 4 beat click intro on any tracks you create. That will insure we have a way to line things up, just in case. :D
