Hey moskus...

Speaking of monitors, does anyone know how to eliminate radiation caused by CRT monitors ? I had to return recently purchased Philips 17" yesterday. Now I have to use my old 14" again (same problem, just quiter  ). Someting reliable than "get plasma screen, Jaymz..!" :D

Finaly I choose Delta 1010LT. Order has been made. I still have to figure the "side effect" of the card (more cables, replacing one of my 1202 mixers with larger model, re-routing patchbay, build new P4 DAW for the Delta, etc... Gee... the side effect will cost me almost another $1500 include upgrading to SONAR 3  )

Hey moskus, I've seen clearance sale at local music store, they sell Behringer VAmp 2 for about $140. Do you think it's a good deal ?

Was your Philips monitor the 107T5? That particular model received the Editor's Choice in August's Autralian Personal Computer magazine, and I was seriously considering replacing my Acer with that particular one.

So far as radiation is concerned, I've never really thought about it. I've suffered no serious side effects, apart from loss of hair, loss of memory and the fact that I now glow in the dark. :)

LOL!@BluesMeister :D

Well, I don't remember exactly the model/version. But indeed it was very good monitor to look at :) As it reviewed and advertised, I was very happy with it. But then again, I notice my sound system started to make noticeable hum / noises when I turn it on. I tried to move them as my room allowed me. But looks like the sound is too noisy. (Off course I made sure it's not my SB Live! card's noises :D ). So I return it to the dealer, and asked if he have something better, he said it can only be reduced by covering the monitor with some particular thing (I didn't remember what was that... :o ). I thought if any of you guys had similiar problem once, so I'll ask for tips and suggestion :)

;)

Okay, I have two sollutions:

1) Get shielded monitors (speakers)
2) "Get plasma screen, James!" :D

And maybe a third. There's some screens around that you place before the monitor, stopping the ions before they hit something... These screens were very popular before TCO certification.

Back to the project at hand...

dachay2tnr,

Where do we stand with the project? What still needs to be done?

Have we worked out Blues Guitars yet?

Porter

I was going to post my standard rant yesterday, but I decided I was getting tired of being the warden on this project.

I did drop Blues guitars parts into the mix. I also did some editing, since I have about 4 different guitar tracks from the bluesman. :) I haven't posted this yet, but I can if anyone would like me to.

From my vantage point we still need (at least):
1. Horns and horn solo
2. Guitar solo
3. BG Vocals
4. Piano
5. Organ

We could probably get by without 4 & 5 if we had to, but 1, 2, and 3 are musts (IMHO).

Also, I need to send out my sound card for repair. I'm probably going to do that next week, which means I may be out of commission for a month or more. No recording. No mixing.

I still plan to supply the BGV's; however I assumed we would do these after everything else was in place. In any case, not until I get the sound card back.

I also assume Jag is going to redo the lead vox. That should be either the very last thing we do, or the next to last thing (with the BGV's then being last).

If anyone has any ideas or wants to take over butt kicking duties, you have my full support. :D

dachay2tnr,

I'll send you a PM later on today (your evening), working out how I can get the individual files from you and if you would like, I can take over mixing (and butt kicking) duties whilst you are out of action. I hope that we should get most of it finished before you get your card back.

Jaymz, could you please check with Clemie about the piano/organ parts to see how she is going with that/if she can do it?

Moskus, how's your axe going? Coming up with solos?

Has anyone seen ChuckU? I might send him a PM to see if he can still donate is Horn for the track.

How does that sound?

Have at 'em, Daniel, me lad. :)

BTW, I'll deliver the BGV's for you.

I'm happy to have a go at the blistering guitar solo too if you don't get any other volunteers.

Let's both play one, and pick the best. :)

So you like being hurt, Moskus.... :)

Of course Bluesmeister will blow you away (he's the Bluesmeister you know?)

I just thought of a perfect 2 syllable rhyme for "humbucker" :D

(not directed at anyone, just sharing) :D

Jagular, it's actually 3-syllables, but what the heck, let's have a go anyway:

Rum Shucker (one who drinks spirits made from sugar-cane and removes clothes)
Plum Trucker (a person who delivers fruit)
Dum Plucker (an inarticulate person who removes chicken's feathers)
Gum Sucker (one of those unfortunate people who have had their molars and incisors extracted)
Tum Tucker (a mildly overweight person wearing bathers* who sees a young nubile girl walking by)

Oh dear, I notice with mild alarm that most of those describe me... :(

*Bathers are what we Aussies call swimming trunks, or bathing costumes.

About your request, off course I can make it. I hope you don't mind to wait few days. I'm out of home this weekend companying my wifey to her mom's house... I'll see what I can do when I go back home :)

moskus
