Back to Cakewalk... (for a while :p :D )

I'm curious, it's been a year since they release... SUBSonar

http://whiterabbitdesign.co.uk/main/stuff/tools/subsonar/index.html

Never heard someone used it here. moskus, dachay, anyone?

;)

Never heard of it James. I didn't have a VST adapter until I got Sonar 3 last summer. So I don't have a very large collection of VST plugs. As such, I don't find a pressing need for it. Also don't particularly like the comment about it being a command line display, and the warning about SP2 (which I am using).

However, like James, I would be interested in anyone's comments who is using it.

So is the collab idea dead?

This is why it might be easier to do a cover. Trying to write, arrange and record a new song is pretty ambitous. For that, we might need to take someone's song as a starting point. Any takers?

If not, I'll again toss out Turn Your Love Around by George Benson, or something by the Beatles as potential covers.

I will join you on that. :)

Let's take the second half of "Abbey Road". Or only Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End... ;)

This is too funny.. I remember reading some of this when i first registered. I only posted here for like a week, never did it again til a couple days ago and this thread is still going strong.

Hi Kaze, join the colabs! :)

I must agree with Beatles covers idea. Actualy, I've tried to make initial writing attempt, but got lost somewhere... :o

Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End, medley? hehehe... I'm wondering (our very own) John singing this song. His vocals character somehow different, but I'm sure it'll be interesting! :)

Hmmm, lets see how long will it take to sequence the drums... :D

I'm still in for a vocal if you guys want. I honestly haven't had time to try to put together an original song for this. I know Daniel was thinking along those lines and I think it would be cool but it is a lot harder than doing a cover.

I will try to think of a cover or two to put up for consideration. I'll throw on out that's a long shot because possibly a lot of you haven't heard it, but it's a beautiful song. It's called "I Believe" performed by Diamond Rio. Or maybe you have. This was an Adult Contemporary crossover hit for them. The harmonies in this song are beautiful and I think the Dachays could do a good job on them. I've also always wanted to sing this song. I can do a pretty good Marty Rowe (as long as he doesn't go too high ;) ). Don't worry. It's not overtly Christian ;). It's really about a guy missing his partner who has died. It's really a touching song.

As far as writing one for the future. Maybe Daniel & I (and whoever else would like to get involved - as long as it's not too many folks as that can get sort of messy) can start something for the next project when it comes along. Or different teams or solo writers can go ahead and get something ready knowing that maybe in 6-8 months or so it should be ready at a moments notice!! :D

However, today....

Everyone should pick on Trojka.. it's his Birthday!

Not familiar with it. I've heard of the group, but don't think I have heard any of their music. I'll see if I can come up with a copy somewhere.

Just another idea...

We have lots of guitarists... harmony vocalists...

Could that equal an Eagles song?

Porter

Could be... but I've got better idea! Why don't we sing the drum part... :D

Hats Off!!!!!!!

I've gotta hand it to you guys. You have kept this thread on the 1st page of this page and talked about many different topics for at least 6 months or better hats off!!!!!!! ;)

We're not playing, you know... ;)

And by the way: I'm still voting for the Beatles medley. :)

Is it worth while me setting up a BBS on my site to get this done (I've recently bought serverspace and a domain)
