I like my machines to be clean scratch free and presentable :D

ok so some of the older machines i have do have the odd ding here and there but it is nothing compared to that pic lol

Keith
this leads me to an idea: the machine like on 'that pic' can be used as an object to be cleaned, dent-fixed and made to be presentable. :D
opportunities are all around us, it's just a matter of seeking them out :p :D :D :D

nah...

To get that machine to the standard i would expect would take at least a month...

:D

Hey guys. I found this machine on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190022290360

The description says that the heads are in "very good" condition. But I can't really tell, can you guys take a look at the pic they posted and let me know if they are worth getting.

I am thinking of just offering this seller $100.00 for the headstock, pinch roller stuff like that. I'm sure they would rather do that then ship the whole machine considering the buy it now price is $150.00

For 150 bucks, why not have the whole thing. You can never have too many spares.

Looking closely at the pics the heads do look conciderably worn.

Though the light reflecting may effect the image.

Cant be 100% sure but the heads don't exactly look brilliant.

Keith

Keith, you're right. The heads, tape lifters are badly worn.

To Frusciante_Fan: DO NOT BUY THE HEADSTACK!! ...or anything related to this auction.

Do NOT offer the seller anything. It's not worth it.

More like well worn spares. I wouldn't bother with that one.

me neither and the cost ta replace the heads and the tape guide posts would be more than the machine is worth.

Later i got to get a new rec/play head for my fostex model 80 as it is starting to wear.

man you guys rock! Thanks for the quick replies, I don't think im going to mess with that auction.

thanks

agreed

It's always good to ask here before buying machines unless you know exactly what your looking for or need a second opinion.

Even i have had loads of help and important advice given to me here.

This forum ROCKS :D
