You are going to have to get a cable that makes it work, But I still would take it back because you could have done better with a cheaper turtle beach montego 2 with 18bit a/d d/a converters ( thats 4 times the resolution ) . not that i would be satisfied with that but 16 bit converters arnt very good at all.

has anyone done the math on how much more resolution you get with 24 bit word length. I think its 256 times the resolution of 16 from your sblive. So even if it is unballanced that audiophile still exceeds the sblive 256 times.

thanks dawg!

but this isn't my final card, i just got it for games and so i can practice a bit with software etc... hopefully i got it for a midi I/O, but I'mnot positive if it will qualify as a midi I/O...someone tell me if the SB live value has midi I/O, it doesn't look like it, I described it above, thanks...
I'm planning to get a delta 66 soon, mayby after I try some stuff with this car and mayby I'll have a better idea of what i need etc.

Damm, there's no shareware of logic platinum, that sucks...
what software is close in design to logic, so I can start learning on it to transfer over when i get it easier...? is pro-tools free similar? besides the number of tracks etc.

Thanks fo the help fo sheezy!

Yes it will work, I have a MIDI cable that has one of those connectors on the end that plugs into the joystick port on the soundcard, and it splits into the two (round) MIDI I/O connectors. I have no idea how to make it work, because I don't record MIDI, but I just know that it connects there and you CAN make it work but I just don't know HOW.

Darrin,
Yep, 24 bit resolution = 256 x 16 bit

8 bit = 256
16 bit = 65,536
20 bit = 1,048,576
24 bit = 16,777,216 (dang that's a LOT of numbers :D)

Isn't technology GREAT?? :)
