just wanted to know if you cn set the cubase meters to be how you want them to be?

I.E can i have the meter display only say down to -24 for example and things like that?

like sonar for instance will allow you to have your meters display down to -60 or -42 or -24 or even -12.

lame would be a really good feature but by far still my favorite daw!!!!!!!!!!

I think for general recording, sequencing and mixing it's not really needed since gain staging is relative and levels is an imprecise practice.

However, there is a ballistics setting (slow or fast), which is more helpful, imo. I guess Steinberg asked themselves whether it was really a crucial feature and for the average tracking and mix engineer their answer was no.

Mastering, on the other hand, would benefit immensely from this feature but Cubase is not a mastering program anyway so no cigar!

Cheers :)

i have found it useful from start to finish to have a smaller meter level of 24db i think i was using gives more precision on tracking but hey each to there own.
